Its sad that most of the deaths in these games are purely for shock factor that diminish 5 seconds afterwards because the survivors spawn in with their default smiling sprites

Game wise: Sayaka (and Leon), Chiaki and Junko’s are the most impactful Lore wise: The class, Junko and Chiaki (again) are the set stones

ok hot take but I think Miu's death was possibly one of the MOST important deaths. Had she lived and killed kokichi, there's no way that they would have been able to solve the case against her. She had enough knowledge to destroy evidence, plus, the murder scene was a world created by HER. so I think had she not died, everyone else would've instead

Sakura's, Gundham's, Chiaki's, Kaede's, Ryoma's, Gonta's, Kokichi's, and Kaito's deaths made me anguish the most.

Literally every death during killing games progresses the game further (unlocks new areas after trial, no one was killed in their place so allows survivors to survive at least a little longer) so each one should be above F at least, even Leon. The only F deaths in meaningfullness could be those outside of official killing games, and even that's hardly any (Yuta established the danger of leaving Towa City, Taichi isn't fully confirmed to be dead, Sato and Natsumi were important for one motive and making Nagito postpone exams and thus indirectly responsible for his suspension and ending Class 76th trio's friendship, etc.). The only F meaningful deaths that come to my mind are the guards in the first episode of Future Arc.

I would honestly replace Akane with either Ibuki or Hiyoko. But what I love about Ibuki's death is the foreshadowing of her slowly fading away in dialogue and becoming less relevant in each chapter. Akane could be a great victim cause of what it did to her lol

Every Danganronpa 2 Death has no meaning for me, all the feelings I had for them dissappeard when I saw the anime, because they lived (except Chiaki of course). But scenes like Peko's or Gundham's execution just lost this for me...cause they are not dead. In Danganronpa 1 and V3 death is death, which I like much more. Edit: Sure in the context of just the game (Danganronpa 2) they have meaning.

I sorta agree. Like sure is good to have them alive but at that point you're not really sad that they died, it's just kinda whatever. But they're also a flashed out cast thanks to the anime where the first anime was just a recollection of the game.

Didn't Mikan did autopsies? Like sure she isn't needed since after her you got a dead robot, so Kazuichi's specialty, and Nagito's plan was an unsolvable murder where the poison and the spear killed him but it was impossible to determine who caused his death without the traitor exposing themselves, but if there were normal murderer she would have probably be more useful

well, i think about this kind of game dont have to make people death mean something (but for lorewise fans are true about their perspective i dont care a lot what happened outside of killing games) because at least to me the thing thats attracts me is the mystery even if its random ahh murder i would love it if it was complicated one thats makes sense peg ch1 was complicated but it didnt made sense (to me atleast bc at trial a lot things didn't get to argue)there is no connection right now (it can be changed) like why eva also inviited diana and why she drugged him etc. for me idc about pilot a lot i still dont know dangans main story fully i am more drawn into theorizing i guess thats why i like the gameplay than actual lore
