Just my opinion, but I don't feel as though advertising will be how social media companies will make profits in the future. I guess it seems like advertising is how social media companies make money at the moment. But I don't think making money from advertising is the purpose for why social media companies were created and particularly their expansion to the giants we have today. I'm not being conspiratorial, or even utopian - I just feel social media companies haven't tapped into their potential as yet.

@@gerardoquinones3889 subscription services, but honestly you gotta be some Netflix type quality to be able to do that. Ads will always provide companies money.

@@omy8135 I agree with you, subscription isn't feasible for most companies. As long as a media company has viewership, they can use ads to make money. I still want to know how this guy thinks companies will monetize their viewership, and what it has to do with their "purpose", or what their "potential" is.
