Megxit was a poor choice but I think Covid ruined everything for them. When Megxit happened, I'm sure all the A-list elite folks in the States would have LOVED to have them in their social circles. At that time, they weren't known for their loose lips (that started after the Oprah interview). So the A-listers had no reason to be wary of them,. They WANTED to have Prince Harry and a "Duchess" at their dinner parties. But immediately after Megxit, the global lockdowns began. Harry & Meg couldn't hobnob with the elite, and be seen everywhere at all the important celeb parties... which was their plan. Be famous for being famous and for hanging out with famous people. They only started blabbing a few months into the pandemic because... well.... they had to stay relevant. So they did the Oprah interview, Finding Freedom, all the other nonsense. After the Oprah interview, I think most A-listers decided to stay away from them. Everyone has secrets and they talk too much. But if the pandemic never happened, I think Harry & Meg would have networked their way into elite circles. I mean, Meg was ALREADY elite by being part of the British Royal Family. It was just super hard to maintain during the pandemic. And she actively degraded her elite status by yapping for 3 years. Which she only did to stay relevant during the lockdowns.

The case isn’t all about Harry. There are around 100 claimants, of which Harry is one of the test cases - presumably because of the amount of attention he’s been getting. The judge will have to consider all the claims.

The day people globally gave up on H&M; was in the Netflix series, there was the most cringemaking parody of Meghan describing her first curtsy to the Queen. That Oprah interview was where I saw Red Flags with the wife. I didn't follow the couple before that. Hadn't watch much of the wedding and never saw any other interview from them before the Oprah one. Only heard about the press and Harry wanting to protect his family and leaving their roles in the firm and I thought good for them. I had a very good impression of Harry and was sincerely very happy for him and the wife. I am no specialist in British royalty even though I am Canadian and the late Queen was our Head of State but i saw in that 1 and a half hour interview that MM wasn't honest in her answers. Interesting - I'm Canadian and was living in the area of Vancouver Island where they landed. They left saying they were getting too much media intrusion..... photos showed one photographer, a respectful distance offshore in a boat. Residents of the neighbourhood were in the papers showing pride for leaving them alone, and shooing away folks hanging around. How they've done HM The Late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip in their final years is disgusting! Henry had the chance, even during lockdowns to go home and see his grandfather before he passed. Instead, he decided to do an international Oprah tell all. My Grandaddy passed from c19 induced pneumonia in 2021. I wanted to go see him the night he passed, but due to restrictions, only 1 visitor in a 24hr period allowed,and he only made it 12. I didn't get to say goodbye and tell him just how thankful I was he was my Grandaddy. I didn't get to tell him I love him. Henry lost all respect and empathy I ever had for him over that. It wasn't the media that made me dislike him, it's his own entitled, spoilt actions that did it.

They were both supported at first. Everyone loved Harry and wanted him to find and marry the love of his life. Some saw the red flags since the engagement interview or the wedding but Meghan's favourability was generally still quite high then. It gradually declined as she started flouting protocol, seeking attention, making political statements, getting personal with the media, spending the most on her wardrobe and generally having aspirations beyond what was expected of RF members. Then all those reports about her character came up (tiaragate, bullying staff, designer gifts, Kate/Charlotte drama). But even when they left at least half of the general public understood and had sympathy for them. It's been on a steep decline since Oprah. Harry has fallen so far from grace that it's amazing Meghan could sit on that couch and say she left everything for him. Edit: While British tabloids are extremely critical of RF members especially the women, it was not exclusive to Meghan. Look up any article about Catherine published before Meghan came along and you'll find the overwhelming majority of the opinion pieces and user comments scathing.

Judging by the number of comments I used to read regarding the Queen's need to 'do something' about H & M, I don't think many realise just how scuppered these two were and how much they lost by the Queen's refusal to agree to their Megxit demands. If they had been granted their wish to be half-in, half-out, they would have been entitled not only to IPP status, but also to the same glitz and red carpet treatment that William and Catherine would have on a royal tour or overseas visits, along with access to the same circles of celebs, politicians and international organisations. They would have remained HRH's, senior royals who represent the Queen, and in diplomatic terms, excluding them from the high-and-mighty would likely have been seen as a snub to the monarchy, so it wouldn't have happened. They'd have been invited to all the best events that the US has to offer and treated almost like the King and Queen. That is what they envisaged, and in my view, that is why, as their struggle to find relevance increases, so does their rage against the RF. They blame them for where they are today because if they had been allowed to have their half-in, half-out deal, their status would have elevated them to great heights, regardless of their behaviour. Speaking of behaviour - I wonder if MM now realises that she was completely wrong to think that the monarchy needed changing, and she was the one to change it? It is the Sussexes very un-royal behaviour that has caused their popularity to plummet, and she would have done the same to the monarchy had she had her way. Of course, my question is a rhetorical one. If they had taken on board the fact that you just cannot be both celeb and royal, they would have changed their modus operandi.

I had heard that he wasn’t the only person bringing allegations against the mirror group… that it was a class action suit with the likes of Elton John throwing their hat in the ring with Harry. My question is that if Harry can’t support his allegations (which he has not been able to), if his specific case will be thrown out or if - because it is tied in with the suit of Elton John and other celebrities - he will still get compensation if the other claimants can prove their case. I really am not quite sure how a class action suit with multiple parties works, especially in the UK. It seems to me that Harry’s case should be thrown out due to his inability to produce actual evidence of wrong-doing on the part of the Mirror Group. I am just not certain if he has found a way to win even if he loses due to attaching his case to that of other celebrities in the class-action suit.
