haha houston wages are horrible probably as bad as miami because so many people moved there you have 800 people applying to one job thats $15 an hour so companies drop the wages because so many are desperate for work. On top of this the rent is on par with Miami im in downtown and pay $2500 a month same rent as Brickell and there is absolutely nothing to do in downtown houston thats why im watching these miami videos to make an exit soon lol. Houston was good in 2000-2010 era because you could work in oil and gas and make 100k and rent was $600-$800 a month for a large one bedroom those days are long gone.

This is exactly what new york went through. New York consist of 5 boroughs and the most expensiveby far is Manhattan. All the rich people live there so I’m gonna assume the same is gonna go for the popular parts of Miami. Make sure you push your mayor to do the right thing because eric adams is certainly not.

It's strange to me how Miami is getting all this hype lately, but US census figures for the 2020-23 period show very small population growth for the Miami - Fort Lauderdale metropolitan area, while Atlanta has shown far greater growth to where it was smaller by about 50,000 in 2020, and about 50,000 larger by 2023. (These are not exact figures). And Dallas has blown both of them out of the water, as well as gaining more corporate relocations, and the largest office presence outside of New York for Goldman Sachs.

Miami is attractive for the same reason Austin, Texas is. They're really trying to get corporations to move there with lower taxes. Unfortunately, unlike Austin, only IG influencers and crypto bros actually WANT to live there. Miami already peaked in the 1980s. Now it's just expensive, car-centric, and frankly pretty boring and superficial. It's like if LA had even less character somehow.

Miami is becoming a hedge fund city. Miami is to hedge funds what Boston is to mutual funds (Fidelity), Fairfield County, CT is to hedge funds (Point 72), and what Silicon Valley is to venture capital (Andreessen Horowitz). But these hedge funds in Miami aren't employing a ton of people. Hedge funds & buy side don't employ nearly the numbers compared to the sell-side (investment banks). The entire sell-side is still in NYC, Goldman employs around 50k, not all in NYC but the investment banks are massive compared to the hedge funds. NYC will remain the hub in the spoke; it has the sell side, buy side, and everything else.

Miami has quickly out priced too many of their residents. They're comparing rent and COL compared to NYC and Miami, but only when it comes to finance transplants and white collar workers. The average household income in NYC in 2023 was almost $75,000, vs $48,000 in Miami. That math against price adjustments to compare COL is daunting. Spending a lot of time in Miami, you see Latino/Caribbean folks disproportionately suffering with the rise of the privileged class in Miami. There is pretty terrible public transit options and the increase of terrible traffic, so people have huge obstacles to get to work. They are having to move farther away from their jobs as more transplant money comes in and pushes them out. Also not discussed is how much foreign money is planted here to avoid taxes while there is little return to the communities. Miami is cool in some ways, but it's entirely unsustainable. And that's a statement before even scraping the surface of climate change issues.

Apparently many in Miami live in a bubble of lies that they believe themselves. Where Miami is overtaking New York City? Let's start with finances. NYC is home to the world's two largest stock exchanges and is home to the world's corporate and sovereign bond markets. We are talking about a $2 quadrillion annual market in the secondary market. It also has the largest financial litigation court in the world. On top of that, it is home to the largest state federal reserve bank in the United States (Miami doesn't even have a reserve bank, it uses the one in Atlanta). NYC is also home to 700,000 millionaires (the most in the world) and is the global epicenter of financial engineering. On a Cultural level, NYC is among the three largest cultural centers in the world. The museums in NYC are second only to Paris and is home to the most important works of art on the planet. Miami doesn't even have a major museum. In Miami, the cultural level is so low that it is the only city I know that does not even have a jazz station. It also doesn't have large bookstores. In terms of entertainment, NYC is the world capital as well. It is the home of the largest television networks in the United States and the headquarters of the most important film companies. It is also the global epicenter of theater, dance, comedy, jazz etc. In terms of infrastructure, NYC is 1000 light years ahead of Miami. It has some of the largest and most efficient subway systems in the world, it has an excellent public transportation system, it is home to over 7,000 completed high-rise buildings of at least 115 feet. NYC is also a city that has access to rivers, mountains, beaches, forests, lakes and has the 4 seasons of the year. What does Miami have? It is the national capital of fraud. It is the most superficial and uneducated city I have ever known, where everything is parties and drugs and sex. Miami is nowhere near NYC on any level. The fact that a small group of millionaires reside in Miami does not mean that they will live there. What it means is that they will pay less taxes, even if they live in their hometowns. Also, Miami host the most corrupt political platform in the USA. So friend, stop uploading videos and talking nonsense. BTW: By the way, above Miami in financial matters is Chicago, home of the largest stock market in the world. Houston, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, Raleigh.

Cool video. Playing devil’s advocate, a few things to consider: - The overwhelming majority of young professionals in Manhattan have a roommate. For those who don’t mind a roommate in NY, the rent is then comparable - Ive never met a young professional in Manhattan who needed a car. Thats a significant additional cost in Miami that was not mentioned here

Once people migrant to different cities because it' "cheaper", they will become the next *NYC 1.0 (Texas), 2.0 (Florida), 3.0 (let's wait until Florida becomes too expensive to live) and so on*. All those ultra rich should stay in one state and leave the rest alone for us regular workers to live so we can *actually* afford it.

that is one sad aspect from all the migrating to florida. but thats how the economy works, demand for something goes up, so does the price. the govt should also be responsible for not letting prices get too out of hand, but seeing as its a red state, they probably wont.

From someone who was born and raised their you literally have to learn Spanish to either be able to rent or get a job because they only look out for their own people there. Even though you're born and raised there if you are not of the Spanish community or African-American forget it the only Caucasian people that are there are the Jewish community in Aventura or Coral gables and they really don't leave those areas. The Russians occupy Sunny isles and they are millionaires and oligarchs and then the rest of the beach is occupied by rich people from Latin America or europe. So if you are a Caucasian person in Miami most of them have been forced out because they don't speak Spanish and they've been forced to go to Tampa or Orlando or even georgia. And most of the African-American community there is forced to work low-wage jobs or stay in the hood because they can't afford to move to the suburbs of the rich areas because they are out priced. So you have to be Hispanic or come from a Latin background to get anywhere in Miami and they refused toenglish. The feeling is when you come to the United States you need to learn English even though it is not written into the books the majority of our country speaks English so you should at least try and learn our language as well

This video is all over the place lol. I saw a graphic at the 35 second mark that said Boston & Dallas are the safest US cities…but had Miami over Seattle. Seattle doesn’t even have a hood while Miami has entire sides of towns you can’t drive in 😂. Miami isn’t safer than any of those cities, Boston might be safer than Seattle, but that’s about it. Miami you’re more likely to get robbed or shot than most major cities. And then rent? Really? It is not 5000 rent for all of NYC 😂. Go to Zillow right now & you’ll find hundreds, thousands of studios & 1BRs in Brooklyn & Queens from 1600 to the low 3000s. Not ideal, but similar to what you’ll see in Miami. The bias is crazy in this one. My advice don’t listen to Uptin visit yourself.

Let me say one truth here. Miami will NEVER be appealing to us L.A. and New Yorkers who are business minded. Miami folks are slow paced, against high pressure, island free mentality. Even the post office there is SLOW as in glacial pace. The people are rude, the people do not like pressure and don’t have a chop-chop mentality on business. For that reason alone, it may be a good place for vacation but NOT towards profit or business. They operate like an island culture, slow and careless about business operations. I would never move my wealth to that location. It’s better to invest in Texas, San Francisco and LA. Because Miami and Hawaii Are NOT good places for business to thrive.

I recently visited Miami for the first time last month and immediately fell in love with the city and surrounding area. Tropical paradise with favorable tax climate how can you go wrong? But I can't ignore the predictions regarding the sea level rising. It would be a tragedy to spend top dollar on a condo only for it to be considered uninhabitable within the next few decades. I would feel assured if there was some kind of action done to prevent it but no one in the state government seems to give a shit.

NY is an expensive dump. If you have the kind of money to live in NY you much rather spend less and live in Miami equally as hot during the summer. I find Miami more tolerable during the summers since we are built for them, more pools, boats, beaches. Perfect winters and then there’s taxes. I would love for a ton of New Yorkers to go back but that won’t happen and deep inside I understand their logic. It will be hard to stop this trend.
