Reason why Huawei is so successful is because the business is owned by its employees, so if the business succeeds, the employees get a huge dividend because profits are shared between the employees every year. So when they got added to the sanction list in 2018-2019, the employees stayed up day and night to find work throughs because they felt invested in the business since its majority owned by the employees.

If you look at the ethnicity of the major players, innovators and manufacturers of microchips, they are predominantly Chinese. The US banned China from participating in the International Space Station project (despite its name) forcing it to go its own way. The ISS is due for retirement and China will become the only nation to have a space station. US banning China from accessing advanced chip technology will produce the same reaction from China.

The question is , why do you need a Space Station , the best product from ISS i have seen is an Astronaut playing guitar that is what i got from it , i don't know about you , tell me if you gained something from it , i did not . Same goes for Chips , i have PS5 , but PS4 is better , you can have 50 games on PS4 , only 10 on PS5 or there around . And you can have 1000 games on PS3 ... do you see a pattern , games are becoming more expensive then movies , and to some extent are movies , use same techniques , cost so much that innovation is rare , you get Asasin Creed , and then 10 games based on that , same game just different pixels and words because its so expensive , same goes for GTA, since i was a kid GTA did not change , it was 2D for a short period then 3D but basic gameplay , the fun you get from it peaked with GTA4 , GTA5 is not worse but its not better either , and if we count in the price , its worse . So we are going towards few companies owning it all , like DSLR, Nikon , Canon , Panasonic , Fuji , they are all one Conglomerate , they work together to divide the market , and because of that we cant have perfect camera , Sony does have Lens stabilization , i do not mean in lens stabilization i mean lens stabilization , actual front lens is like a gimbal , the best stabilization , but they wont even release a lens like that for their DSLRs . Chinese dont work like that if they make a camera they make it as good as it can be , dont pretend to have 6 manufacturers when they dont , while USA and Japan do , Intel , AMD , nVidia same company , all of Japans camera manufacturers same company , there are exceptions , like Pentax and Leica but those tend to be very expensive , so not worth mentioning . We need to think about what we are getting , what is happening , does a camera body really cost 3000$ , for a lot of the world 3000$ is a year worth of work , people who made that camera can not buy it . Think about that , we are not talking about Nuclear rocket , something big , just a camera , cant afford it , and they make it . People who make iPhone , cant afford one . Why , do you know how much it costs to make I phone , about 20$ , and it sells for what 1200$ , do you see a problem .

Take China for granted at your own expense. The USA is a dying power who is trying to use it's dwindling military power and economic sanctions to keep their hegemony afloat, but it's sinking fast. De-dollarization and BRICS will see the end of the USA's hegemony, and for the first time in a long time it will have to try and compete on level playing field, and it will not like that.

Conspicuously, China has transcended from a low tech manufacturing economy to become inarguably the new leader in Industry 4.0. It has moved ahead of the industrialised West in the integration of intelligent digital technologies into manufacturing and industrial processes encompassing industrial IoT networks, AI, Big Data, robotics, and automation. To Washington, that was not supposed to be. At least not in another ten to twenty years from now. That explains why Washington is doubling down on its efforts to slow down China. Clearly, to Washington the greatest leverage against its new found peer competitor will have to come from a collective approach involving its allies - accompanied by a collective, coordinated, and sustained effort - to isolate and to deny China the advanced and cutting-edge technology, as well as the access to the their markets. However, such belligerent denial strategy will not work. Instead it had actually speeded up China’s push towards innovation and technological self-reliance, as well as opening up new frontiers and markets for its affordable and high quality products. Truth be told, the so-called “Chip War” - the battle to control ostensibly the world’s most critical resources-microchip technology - has ended as soon as it started. Why do I say that? Simply put, China was contented to buy advanced chips “off the shelf”. But that was until Washington waged the so-called Chip War thinking, erroneously, that it will strangulate the Chinese. But instead of achieving that shallow goal, it backfired. It has actually serve as a catalyst to accelerate China’s transition to become the new leader in Industry 4.0.

China has ALREADY won the microchip war. The US sanctions were supposed to prevent China from producing 14 nm chips, but China is already mass producing 5 nm chips by the millions - 3 generations ahead of where they were supposed to have been halted, and only 2 generations behind the state of the art. More significantly, China dominates mature 40 nm nodes that comprise the bulk of chip sales, with far more capacity coming on line. As of last year, China now produces the majority of their chips domestically, where before they produced less than 10% because they could simply buy what they wanted. At the rate things are going, China will meet all chips need domestically by 2030. Japanese, Korea, Taiwanese and American chips companies are in very big trouble as they will have lots of capacity, but no big customers leading to massive global oversupply and huge price discounting. Western chipmakers are going to see a downward spiral of reduced revenue, reduced profit, reduced product development against an accelerating Chinese flywheel of increased investment, increased production, increased sales, increased profit, increased product development. There's going to be a very big consolidation coming.

Silicon chips are reaching the theoretical limit of just how small scientists can make them. And not surprisingly, most viewers from North America are clueless of how fast China has caught up with the US in this area of chip technology... the common accepted position in 2022 was China was 5 years behind, since then their have made inroads in Quantum Computing technology, overcome the limitations of sanctions on semiconductor chips by focusing on domestic research and production. The Chinese have also quietly progressed and NOT advertised their growth except for the annual filing of global patents that only hint at the progressive growth in global activity.

Data centers which train LLMs consume huge amount of energy. In general, the larger the model size and the training data, the more computing power is required. A training run typically consumes 10,000 - 100,000 kWh per billion parameters, which is insane and unsustainable. Future GPU designs should address this issue.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is seriously considering abandoning plans to join the European Union and instead joining the BRICS group, which would be a major geopolitical shift. And the prospect of the Balkan country joining the group causes a real stir among the diplomatic departments of countries close to this club, officially established in 2011 and competing with Western organizations. Serbia's possible inclusion in the BRICS opens up unprecedented European opportunities for the Chinese Communist Party (CPC). This possibility is also of interest to other countries occupying intermediate geopolitical positions, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will discuss this issue with Xi Jinping during the upcoming visit of the Chinese leader to Budapest. There is also the possibility that one day Emmanuel Macron may join the BRICS summit as an observer, which the French president has been insisting on for some time, especially since this is the carrot that Beijing has been waving since the 2023 BRICS summit in Johannesburg. According to our information, in 2010, the Chinese Foreign Ministry created a unit dedicated to studying the expansion of the list of countries associated with the BRICS. Initially, the unit's work was entirely focused on Europe. When Xi became chairman in 2012, the idea of including some European countries in the BRICS was rejected as impractical, but not completely discarded. Because if the BRICS represents a possible Chinese-style world order, Europe cannot but become a part of it. Five new countries officially joined the BRICS bloc in August 2023 after the Johannesburg summit. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Ethiopia and Iran joined the club on January 1, 2024. Argentina was also supposed to join, but changed its mind. China strongly supported this new expansion, which was the culmination of Xi's diplomatic efforts to strengthen the CPC's strategic cooperation in the Middle East and Latin America. In August 2023, China talked about BRICS as a closed bloc, to which only certain states can be invited to join, while starting preliminary negotiations with Nigeria, Vietnam and Kazakhstan. Eight months later, the CPC's strategic interests are focused on Europe, and the dynamics of the BRICS are developing accordingly. Simultaneously with the negotiations with Serbia, the party began to talk about an "open group", at the same time making the bloc attractive to other European countries and justifying the invitation of observer countries. But since Russia will take over the BRICS presidency this year, there are rumors in the Chinese Foreign Ministry that it will be difficult for Xi to get the Russian president to agree to an invitation from France.

Nah, I can read simplified and traditional characters. They aren’t that hard to read, just harder to write for traditional characters due to more strokes. Once you recognize the characters, literacy can be the same for both traditional and simplified. Japanese also simplified the Chinese characters to shinjitai (meaning “new characters”). Singaporeans and Malays also read simplified Chinese characters. I am good with both but I still like the traditional characters when it comes to reading because it’s from ancient times, but for writing, simplified characters are preferred for me. My kids are learning traditional Chinese characters in schools here in USA, and I was also learning traditional Chinese characters in Boston Latin School my alma mater. I learned simplified Chinese characters as an elementary school graduate from Guangzhou where I was born but learned traditional characters in USA. So I can read both, but traditional ones are good for reading, while simplified ones are easier for writing because there are fewer strokes. Literacy doesn’t make a difference once you learn to read them.

Microchip is only one face, the other side is software writen as building blocks that can be assembled as solution running on dedicated system. Russian had made the accent on computer language, libraries as multicore architecture than run in parralel. Katlin language had been choosen by Google for it's building blocks. ASML UV can be replaced by laser wafer engraving technology elimitating some steps process and more precise. FGPA is another technology that can produce custom made processor best suited for military higher performance. Russian standardize early on Z-80 8 bits till Z-8000 32 bits / 64 bits and Java set of commands

A big pie could have been shared by many countries involved in the chip industry. Somehow the US politicians thought excluding the biggest consumer market in the world to share the pie would help their own chipmakers to grow is really beyond me. I could only guess that these politicians only talked about China this and China that would help them to win votes that matters the most to them. I guess it’s all boiled down to what voters wanted to hear from their senators and presidential candidates and not about the facts that, it could cause a long term negative impact on their own with such move. After all, I guess these politicians could always turn around and blame everything on China for their own stupid decisions and somehow, voters just loved that kind of BS.
