1830 British and American ships appeared at Canton, China. The crews forced their way into China, bringing a cargo with them. Cargo on ship: opium. 2024 Chinese ships appear off the shores of the United States and Europe, causing panic among the politicians and car makers. Cargo on ship: EVs. Similar scenes. The Americans and Europeans should reflect on what they did. They reap what they sowed. Don't blame China. China is not doing anything wrong now, but just to sell EVs with good quality and low cost.

Actually, bad infrastructure resulted from bad economic structure where investment makes more money than working hard to manufacture or grow something. Since investment is more profitable, no one needs to manufacture or farm which requires the infrastructure to maintain the supply chain. Thus, no one need to build a new infrastructure nor maintain previous one anymore. Also, due to the investment heavy economy, the price jumps up for no reason: adds up bubbles and bloats price of everything. Thus, as you mentioned, higher living fee, higher salary to maintain the workforce.

A few years ago I want to buy a new car and my daughter suggested to consider an EV. But price of an EV was more than double that of a petrol vehicle. I figured even using electricity was cheaper than using gas, but it won't make up the difference of $30000 in the life of a vehicle.
@PETERJOHN101
@PETERJOHN101 Ай бұрын
@@ronaldtorrents3166 Your math no longer applies. A Tesla is at about a 25% premium to an ICE car and the cost of ownership easily compensates the owner as a result of fuel savings and almost zero maintenance. With battery prices falling, EVs are becoming cheaper to own than non-EVs.

sadly in the west, they can't get their heads around the fact that they have sunk their own economy and financial systems, but when the west was at the top, they absolutely dominated the world often resort to forceful coercive long arm jurisdictions or policies of containment, now that they have lost the economic/trade race, they are completely convinced that China's rise is a national security threat, thinking China would do exactly what U$ did to others which is what every western empires that came before it, have done! Of course, if one were to study China, one would learn that China has a history of peaceful existence with many in Asia, long before European nations even existed. Instead of working together to solve real problems like climate change, space exploration or to improve humanity as a whole, U$ led west is working tirelessly in orchestrating death and destructions all over the world, even today in Palstine!!!

Another nice vid, Cyrus. The thing is, the Chinese are brilliant at waiting. If they can't get access to North America then they'll go to South America. And India. And Africa. As well as the whole of Asia. BYD has a much more versatile line up than Tesla, so it will have much better market penetration. And, of course, as it continues to build more cars economies of scale continue to accrue. Eventually, the US tariffs will be completely irrelevant.

From my observation and historical market pattern, there might be a bit of turbulence in the market coming up, but here's the deal: Trying to guess what's going to happen next is less important than spreading your bets when trading and thinking long term. It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... We need to stop simping for one country over another. Every country will act in its own best self-interest, it doesn't matter if its morally right or wrong....interests will always trump morality. We shouldn't be overcompensating how nice China is just because of how antagonized we are of the US (and rightfully so), historically speaking China has been way better in its foreign policy than US...but that doesn't mean it will continue to be in the future. I like China because finally we will have a counter-balance to the United States, no longer will one country alone be able to dictate whatever it wants in the world unopposed. I'll give you an example....people were rooting for AMD for the longest time because Intel which dominated the CPU market had stagnated and asked for ridiculous amount of money for very little performance uplift gen over gen. When AMD became the top dog they started doing the same anti-consumer BS as Intel. Lesson learned is that we shouldn't blindly simp for these countries, let the actions speak for themselves (right now China seems way better than US hypocrites in this regard).

Exactly. BYD is where it is today because they employ more engineers than all US-based OEM's combined. They appreciate the value of engineers and engineer the cost out of vehicles, in order to reduce prices. That's why having the government throw massive amounts of subsidies at US automakers, multiple times as much per EV sold, will not catch them up. Major US automakers are not capital-constrained, they are engineering-constrained. If we were smart, we would re-allocate the money to educating more engineers.

If you look at BYD's 1st Quarter results, overall Gross Margin actually increased to the highest on record. In other words, their cost of goods sold has dropped more than prices have dropped. However, BYD showed slower than anticipated net profit growth due to a 70% increase in R&D spend. If their R&D spend had stayed flat YoY, net profits would have more than doubled. They are accellerating R&D and are anticipated to reach over 100k engineers in R&D this year. The combination of low cost and rapidly advancing technology makes it hard for other companies to compete.
