@@XPSGDoh I remember Porche 959 also joined to test their new 4 wheel drive in dakar and won like mitsubshi did but sadly for an early super car that is superior than its rival Ferrari F40 was out sold just because that Porche is too stable and they can't feel the speeding up feel thing but that porche is much faster than its counter part another thing that makes even more troublesome for 959 is Mclaren F1 that suddenly also showed up on the picture making it even harder for Porche to sell it and compete

It came to Brazil (in 1982) with it's world name, Pajero. It was a favorite in the local regularity Rallies.
@gustavovasconcelos43723 ай бұрын
It actually came to Brazil in 1992. Imports were forbidden in Brazil from 1976 to 1990. Mitsubishi started bringing the L200 in 1991 and the Pajero in 1992.

@@gustavovasconcelos4372 it came to all of south america around that time, maybe a few years earlier in some countries. it was called Montero in the spanish speking countries cos pajero means wanker (lit)

I'm proud of my 1995 Mitsubishi Pajero V6, it can go places where other SUVs would be stuck and it's an uncommon sight on the road too. The only downside is the maintenance. I have to wait for months to import a few spare parts from Japan.

In. Sri Lanka We have so many pajeros as government vehicles ( police, municipal council, Agricultural department etc) all most all of them nearly 3 decades old still runs like it came out factory yesterday, you can easily found a Pajero in any vehicle advertisment page And people recognize Pajeros as synonym for Reliability and longevity

We were supposed to buy the Pajero final edition but we can't seem to get rid of any of our 3 older Pajero. They still work very well. Cheap parts, easy to fix. Both gas and diesel models. Mine would probably be my final car. Hate the tech on new cars. Unnecessary novelty, more stuff that could break.

at that time Mitsubishi SUV may not be fast, but she won my heart till now. a beauty icon
My 2022 Montero Sport GTV carries this spirit into modern era, super select 2 gearbox is "A UNIT" (can drive all 4 wheels with a 60/40 rear/front wheel torque distribution on sealed surfaces as well as a central and rear wheel diff lock) , only criticism is, I wish they offered a V8 turbo diesel option for the power plant and solid axle like the old Nissan GQ/GN Y60.

Thanks for another great motor racing story. At 5:25 when the second pair of ads had reared their ugly faces, I was worried that this channel might have gone the way of another channel that I had subscribed to for around five years; Triggernometry, which started running two ads every three minutes. I unsubscribed and deleted their bookmark after a few episodes of that rort. Thankfully, there were no more ads on Motor Legends after those two pairs at the beginning. Phew! Also interesting to see one set of shots of the Pajero Evo with a licence plate from Victoria, Australia. Definitely a very popular model for a few decades in Australia. Hard to guess how the Pajero fared saleswise against the Toyota Landcruiser and the Nissan Patrol, being quiite a bit smaller than both those two, but with a reputation as a better 4x4 than either.
