MKBHD has always been a definition of the overnight success that took years to build. Get the one with the sound waves!

MKBHD is the man. It's awesome watching his earliest KZbin videos, followed by his later ones where he literally sits down and chats with Kobe, Obama, etc. What an inspiration.

Idea for Noah: Pick a follower who has some kind of subject matter knowledge, but no email list, social media presence, or KZbin channel. Walk that person through turning his knowledge into content, starting and growing a list, gaining a following, and monetizing things. Document everything and let us watch the journey. No one can guarantee to replicate the success of Marques (or Mr. Beast or others profiled recently). But we could learn so much by seeing the early, painful, demoralizing parts of the process in addition to the more rewarding "success" phase like that of Marques.

Diversify ... BUT do it around a specific audience that you can cross sell to.

I am seeing a reoccurring theme with the YT's that have made it. They hustled hard and long in the shadows. MrBeast, Airrack, MKBHD - you need to have the work ethic and discipline to grind it out without any results in order to then later enjoy the fruits of your work!
@CoconutPete4 жыл бұрын
there are so many variables with YT and even if you make it - the problem is YT still has all the power and can pull the plug at any time without notice. You can start an email list to help secure your audience... only problem is most people use gmail lol.

I see people like MKBHD and feel inspired, but I still feel like I don't know where to start. I like the health and fitness niche because I think that's valuable for people, but I don't exactly look like a super fit fitness guru type, I know there are tons of people doing it already and I hate the idea of being in front of a camera. I also like the idea of talking about personal development and mindset stuff like Ryan Holiday does with his Daily Stoic channel, but I don't feel like I have many valuable insights to offer people. I feel stuck myself. 😪

I love your videos, but I think you always overestimate conversion rates from subscribers to buyers. It is good to have a some kind of numbers to think about, but I'm afraid every youtuber you review makes way less than you say. However, since they would mostly have LLC or better, maybe the finance is public. I live in Italy and LLC P/L are public here, don't know about the US.

Why would anyone give exposure to a KZbinr that is making over $6 million a year? This is ridiculous. STOP glorifying these people! Not only does he not need any more exposure than he already has, he's not even a good person. He accidentally showed his dashboard, then later blurred it out. Why? Because he knows how obscene it is that he's making so much money. And saying that "these are only estimates, we hope he's making a lot more money" almost made me gag. Why the hell would we wish that he makes MORE than $6 million a year? Oh wait, I'm sorry, I meant $6.4 million. I forgot the $0.4 million which is more than I or most of the people watching will ever make, but is just a rounding error for him. Normalization people making absurd amounts of money is repulsive. So please, stop watching channels like his, and ones like this too, as no one who gave away a Tesla Model X needs more money.
