Why does everyone want to try to hide kitchens? I really don't understand. I use my kitchen heavily and love it for what it is. I love these videos and appreciate a window into how other people live. And I like when the designer/architect talks about the why behind the design. Thanks!

It reduces the visual clutter - especially in open planned living spaces.

@ChristiePriem I agree but you would be surprised at how many people eat out and don't cook (NOT ME! We love to cook. ) but most of my friends don't touch their beautiful kitchens.
@ChristiePriemАй бұрын
@cnfusd I guess that makes sense. Maybe a door to just shut that room away, then, rather than trying to disguise it.

Love, Love the creativity- especially the kitchen not kitchen design. If I have to nitpick, it’s the shower pod. My brain couldn’t accept it 😂.
@x3nvyАй бұрын
Stunning design throughout but some absolutely criminal choices from an everyday/ergonomic perspective. The kitchen and en-suite pod while visually intriguing are functionally horrendous.

Garden area is stunning. Don’t understand the kitchen. Owners must eat out a lot.

In my view, the garden was the only good part of the project. So much wasted space/opportunity. . .

Sandstone bedroom is gorgeous and a few other rooms. But the kitchen. Maybe don’t call it a kitchen but a room with a marble island. Some concepts are really gorgeous

Bizarre! Kitchen as a sculpture? As for the " pod", ensuite...eh why? Don't get me wrong there are many aspects and design details that work. Yet it all is disjointed. " Every room has its own character".... Indeed. As comments below the owners must eat out... A lot! Quirky to say the least...
@liz.j6822Ай бұрын
The house is beautiful but seems disjointed with the most impractical "kitchen" I've ever seen on this channel

Agreed. This house is kind of a mess. It has more of a retail showroom kind of vibe to it than a house itself

Appreciate what they've done, for me it feels very cold and victorian and lifeless. That said it has been finished really well and hope the owners love it. These things are subjective...
@akirahojo226 күн бұрын
That kitchen design is form over function, and the ensuite pod will leave a lot of moisture in the room. The house is fun to explore but also feel disjointed, like living in a post modern art gallery.
@lazlo2511Ай бұрын
Nice blend of ideas, interesting work but some spaces would have been nice to keep traditional themes. The counter in the room looks very retail and the pod seems fun but would it serve as an everyday treat? Not often you have an opportunity to fuze spaces from another era. Would enjoy a private walk through to gain more insight into choices made. Glad it was saved from been a block of flats.

I appreciate the creativity, the outdoor& lounge area is beautiful. Really dislike the blue coloured shelving. I don’t think the owners live there, seems more like a holiday home or they rent it out like an airbnb. Popular at New Years. Seems more appropriate for that than full time living in. Loved the sandstone downstairs & that bathroom also looked beautiful. Nicer than the pod bathroom.

@christianemeiners9224Ай бұрын
It is an interesting concept, for sure, well thought and expertly executed. I just can't imagine living in the house prolonged. It lacks warmth in my opinion. It lacks connection. But as a concept for a dwelling used by people as a stay over now and then it might work.
@kirkl9370Ай бұрын
Beautiful project albeit it quirky and I appreciate the efforts to retain and restore elements but maybe a stretch to get clients on board with the solutions. I do question the comment that "we didn't want too much going on" in the new garden area... there's a lot going on!

Absolutely awful. So disconnected, designer foley, I can’t see one room that actually works or that you would want to spend time in or is practical. A perfect example of money can’t buy you style…..

Individual elements look nice, and is in a prime location, but from my perspective, is thoroughly unusable as a functioning house. Would be a pain in the neck to live in. And that shower pod, i mean what the? I would assume the users of this place don't cook or do much normal living.

Regardless of the haters, the builder has made this happen, the attention to detail is meticulous, but .... I'm sure he, they/them went bald and broke in the process. Congratulations anyway. 🎉

So beautiful. I would like to see how the kitchen and bathroom pod function. The architect said the last thing she wanted to do was fill it with traditional kitchen things - what is her reasoning behind that? Why is that the last thing they would want to do - just to be non-conformist, or is there more reasoning. Also, who is the woman walking through the video, what does she have to do with the home? Or is she just a prop for our eyes to consume? Kinda sexist.
@tchilds1077Ай бұрын
Ok. Appreciate it, but wouldn’t want to live there…. This is definitely form over function.
