Yep! My integrity, and top leaderships’ frightful lack of it. Elder Oaks sealed it with a kiss. Hold my baby. He really got my goat with the electro-shock therapy lie, right in front of lesbians and Jesus. He took the whole thing, Q-15 and all, right down the toilet. That’s when I knew they all bloody knew. The harm these monsters do FAR outweighs the good. FAR. If the only reason I were to be born is to declare it, so be it. Those boys are sellin’ rattle snake oil, tearing apart families, and hoarding the billions. Were there a hell, there would be a special place for them there, where they could stand up on their feet for time and all eternity, bent over, filing Satan’s hot, HOT toenails

As an exmo, one of the biggest problems I have today with the church is watching its leaders say, “obey/listen to/follow/ never question Jesus”. Since they speak directly for Jesus, they really mean “obey/listen to/ never question ME.” Now that I realize that, I can’t unsee it.

I understood integrity when I was in the church the same way I do now… it’s that definition of integrity that forced my hand and led to my resignation when I discovered that the leaders of the church were not being totally honest. I was taught that I should follow the rules and be a good neighbor and citizen. I never perceived any kind of disconnect between the will of God and my being a completely truthful person. And it NEVER occurred to me that the leaders of the church might be doing something behind closed doors other than what they were teaching me. It makes sense why though… I was taught that they were above criticism. I was specifically admonished that finding any fault in them at all was sinful. And it didn’t occur to me that something was off because they seemed so perfect and “Christ-like.” The deception still stings. I still can’t believe how naive I was.

@@nathanaeldavenport2251 same here. It’s distressing to discover that you’ve been duped for so long. I always got the “look how your ancestors suffered in order to join the early church” lectures as a kid and as an adult whenever I complained about the sketchy doings and behaviors of church leaders from my TBM mom. Everything that I complained about has been proven to be true. If my ancestors had known the truth when they lived in Europe and England they would never have joined the church in the first place. Many actually left the church after they got here because of polygamy (which nearly destroyed both sides of my family) and other issues that the missionaries hadn’t bothered to tell them in “the old country”. I was taught to look down on them because they “weren’t faithful”. Frankly, I’m proud of them for just saying “No!” to polygamy and the unrighteous dominion of women in general. And then there were the pesky doctrines like Adam/God and blood atonement that really freaked them out too. Unfortunately, the ancestors were too poor to return home, so here I am.

One time my dad talked bad on this one persons dad for suddenly leaving his position as a seminary teacher, saying he had lost belief in the church. Other Mormons were chiming in and they were all smearing this poor man on a public platform that his children could see. So I left a message saying that I would rather see someone in the role of seminary teacher who believed than someone who didn’t, and that I respected the man for his decision to leave. Then I said I hope they all prayed about that they said. Other than my step siblings coming at me, nobody else said anything. My father was a high priest and I was an adult not living there anymore. I just couldn’t believe they would go on to bully someone for leaving like it was a personal affront to them. Sad.

Hey guys. Me and my best friend have been active in the church our whole lives. We’re 22 and 23 respectively for reference. And we’ve always been on the fence on certain things, especially since we are both biracial and have always had a lot of issues about Race and the Priesthood to name one thing. But recently we have been trying to be more honest with ourselves and looking at the church as a whole with objectivity…and it pains me to say but this video resonates so well with me and it’s part of the reason why I seem to be “losing my faith”. My love for Jesus and for others and has never changed, but somehow along the way the church has and now I’m the bad guy seemingly for not fitting in the mold I once did. And it’s just so hard because there should only be truth and falsehoods, not a mix of both which is what seems to be happening so much in the church and with many places these days and it’s exhausting and I’m just beyond tired. Like. Truth and Gods truth have always been the same and yet the church seems to be a hypocrite to itself and yet they say you’re the hypocrite for doubting.

Examples from Douglas Stilgoe: 1. The church has $150B of investements. Douglas assumes leaders of the church are greedy. 2. The church keeps on building temples: Douglas assigns the motive of Pres. Nelson building his legacy. 3. The church still has cases of abuse against children: Douglas assigns that the church doesn't care about children and ignores the laws of the lands and the complexity of the world we live in. 4. Joseph Smith married a 14 year old girl: Douglas assumes JS was a pedophile with no evidence that their was any sexual relationship. 5. Douglas has his records removed from the church. Douglas blames everyone else except himself. Almost every video Douglas has made assigns negative motives and reasons to all things LDS church. He has tons more of takes on the LDS church. In almost every case he assigns fairly negative motives as well as a lot of his followers. Watch his videos and take notes. You will see how twisted his viewpoints are.

I was always so confused listening to General confrence. Then I started listening to Jordan Peterson and he made way more sense. It seems like the general authories just say the same things over and over again and use the wrong definitions so its confusing. And then they gas light us by saying nothing changes. What about the Adam God Doctrine and a bunch of other things that have changed.

Keep up your wonderful videos and insights! I enjoy these shorter videos over the 1 & 2 hour long ones. All of these leaders must be required to learn legalese from Oaks. They certainly know how to twist the info and make it sound so reasonable. (Someone said in the comments that The true Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints is restored. It WAS restored until hijacked by men after Joseph's murder.)

I am from Russia. I have spent a lot of time with russian mormon community. Around 7 years ago Russia has banned proselytising of streets and door to door. It basically made missionary work very hard and boring. Missionaries in Russia can't really interact with anyone who is not familiar with the church already. But I have heard the member of the quorum of seventy for Russia say than the ban was good. It's wrong. Political repression is clearly not good. The Mormon religion would not exist if the US didn't have religious freedom. I get that the pulpit isn't really a place for politics. But I am repulsed by a person claiming integrity but refusing to express a moral position in personal conversation. When you think something is not only wrong but actively harming your cause you should admit it is wrong. If he had done that I might have been still talking with missionaries but not I just can't stand for this church because of too many issues.

Why would you stay in the church if the very foundation of the church's uniqueness, that being Joseph Smith as a Prophet and the Book of Mormon being a divine translation of anciet text, is utterly a lie? Can you be a good Christian in another denomination or group without holding onto the teachings of the LDS Church?

When an organization has a secret society (Freemasonry) that's foundational to so many of it's (supposedly) saving ordinances, you're going to have a lot of gaslighting and covering up going on. Calling something sacred that's actually a secret, and is part of a secret society that makes blood oaths, is blasphemy against God. It's so important to come back to ourselves, and in the process come back to God. The understanding of what's truly sacred is an inner knowing that's built into us as children of a loving Father In Heaven. Understanding what sacredness is is really just a profound remembering of who we truly are. Don't let them gaslight you into thinking that seeking out the truth, wherever it is to be found, is ever the wrong thing to do.

It's ironic to hear David Bednar talk about integrity. My ex brother-in-law knew him personally while he was at BYU-I. Bednar was described as a tyrant who demanded unquestioning obedience, and would lie to get his way. When he was brought into the Q12, that was the beginning of the end for me and the church. No idea how anyone looks at him and thinks he's anything other than an authoritarian.

The sacrifice (even consecration) of one’s honesty and integrity seems consistent with the hierarchy of the covenants made in the temple. Why wouldn’t it include values, beliefs, honesty and integrity?

I will say that having integrity before God trumps having integrity before the world. Every time. That business in the Articles of Faith about obeying the laws of the land was just Joseph playing politics (and I don't blame him considering what was going on in his time). The Church has broken the law on many occasions. Ideally, we would be able to have integrity with both God and man - but it's not always going to be the case, and frankly, philosophical arguments aside, I don't put a lot of value on the laws of man.

2 examples : we act with integrity by not receiving the words of false prophets into our hearts and sharing them with others now that we know which prophets actually speak by the power of the Holy Ghost vs those men who blaspheme God by the power of the devil teaching for doctrine the precepts of men. We can adhere ourselves to the truth, facts, reality and natural law which has been established by God; opposite to lying, that which deceives and manipulates having been established by the devil.

According to Nelson, “Truth is what God says it is.” Well then Mr. Nelson, who or what is God? God is who we tell you ‘he’ is. Hmmm. Sounds circular to me. Well you just need to believe that I’m really a prophet and know what I’m talking about. So what you’re really saying is just believe in you and what the church tells me god is? Yeah….pretty much. You do know I speak to him don’t you? Sure, whatever. :) A church and it’s leaders proclaiming to be true are essentially beliefs proclaiming to be Truth itself, which is illogical. At their basic level, churches are nothing more than a set of beliefs. And beliefs are just that….belief. Beliefs have nothing to do with Truth itself. A religion or a leader may be able to point to Truth if it/they know what Truth Really is, but neither will ever be “True”; which is why the oft repeated claim “I know this church and prophet are true, is so misguided. What is Truth Really? Truth just is and can’t be explained or defined. This is frustrating to the intellect; but it’s just the way it is. So then, can Truth ever be known? Not in the way you know other stuff. However, Truth can be recognized at its deepest level if you know how or where to look. You know you exist don’t you? Start there and eventually you’ll find it.

The church lies about meditation stating it is thinking about spiritual things. I learned mantra meditation from reading the book Meditation for Dummies by Stephan Bodian. Mantra meditation benefited me 10x more than the Mormon church. I spent years in the church thinking I was meditating, but learned from the book I mentioned I wasn't. The church has sent missionaries all over the world so they had to know there was more to meditation than thinking of spiritual things. I was so blessed to find and practice mantra meditation. I was close to the age of 30 before I learned this. Highly recommend reading Meditation for Dummies. This book also teaches to feel feelings such as anger, pride, fear and jealousy until they go away rather than suppressing or acting on them. I believe Christ would do this. No one goes around saying Christ is so compassionate, Christ can't feel his feelings. Left church as I was tired of being taught that these feelings were evil.
