About three weeks ago, I began playing an online strategy game, and recently I met an opponent, who was multiple times my superior. Out of 30 playable commanders, he played a single one more than I played as all of them combined. And compared to my three weeks of experience, he had three years or more. But he decided to choose a weaker commander to my stronger one, and also chose to play in a suboptimal way for fun (By recruiting units that I could easily counter, when he had an option to recruit only units that he could beat me with). And thanks to that, I was just barely able to achieve victory, by executing an attack he failed to predict at the last possible moment, and getting a single VP advantage. He was pretty salty afterwards, first telling me I don't really know how to play and boasting how he didn't take me seriously (Which I knew was true, he didn't take me seriously and as a new player I wasn't very good yet), then refusing to believe when I wrote to him I'm a new player. But in the end we came to agreement, and he even apologised. That was when I understood how Motobe felt after beating Musashi. Yes, Musashi was purposefully striking armor instead of unarmored parts of Motobe's body, and yes, he was treating this fight as just part of neverending training, thus holding back. But it was all something Musashi chose to do, none of that was forced upon him as an unfair disadvantage, and therefore he had no right to complain about losing- and didn't, he congratulated Motobe even.

Yeah, that shit was POWERFUL to read. A dude hung up in a hospital bed being given his flowers by the literal Greatest on behalf of EVERYONE. Although i just realized that this is basically a mini-arc for Miyamoto in the same way as Pickle's fight against Baki: He learned how to fight in the present day. Pickle via learning abiut techniques, to Musashi learning that he can't really submit to his Great War Period's rules/his own bloodlust in modern times.
