I want to move to Florida soo badly. I live in Odell Illinois, and it's extremely boring here. I can't visit beaches every now and then, I can't go swimming as much, I'm just not happy here. I've been to Florida multiple times because my family and I go there during vacations. I feel alot happier there than I do here, it's absolutely beautiful there! I've seen the sunsets and boy are they gorgeous! I've said multiple times that I want to move to Florida when I get older and I just can't wait! It won't be so darn cold in the winter. Another thing is I have terrible anxiety and got it from being cooped up all the time. Getting bored just causes you to think about stuff you shouldn't even need to worry about. Again, there's absolutely nothing to do in such a small town. All I really do is just sit out on the porch or go to the creek with my friends when it's nice out. Sorry if this is long but I just love being obsessed with Florida-

I’m from California and have lived in Colorado for the past 10 years. Although we get more sunshine than the average cold state, the combination of everything that the cold brings (snow, ice, gloom) is a huge deal breaker for me. I am sooooooo looking forward to the day when I can get out of here. I’m not a Four Season type of guy. Unless it’s the name of my hotel surrounding palm trees.

I'm really getting into your videos Michael and find them inspirational. Sorry I'm commenting so much I don't want to be a pain in the ass LOL. But it just resonates with me. Before I moved to Florida at age 34, I was much more introverted. Not in great shape and really kind of shy and not remotely a risk-taker. I'm not George Clooney, LOL, but I was definitely not even close to good looking, and I had had a very very rough childhood that kind of crippled me, but when I moved to Florida I was really motivated to change my appearance and got to the point where I liked what I saw in the mirror. Arrogance is not a good thing but confidence and loving yourself definitely is. When I moved here, the sunshine and palm trees and just the atmosphere opened me up. I ended up owning two breakfast and lunch restaurants, got in really good shape, started songwriting and recording and got five songs published, started writing on a regular basis, started drawing, I just really opened up and became a different person. I believe moving in general can kick-start people into a new life, but the tropical atmosphere really does it for me. I always encourage people, if you don't like where you're living, change it and get the hell out if you can! Best thing that I ever did. Stay healthy. ;-)

Hey Frank, don't be sorry at all! it's not annoying and I encourage comments! In fact, it makes me feel great that you feel compelled enough to write a comment and that you can relate to me on this level. That is awesome man! Your story is a success story if I ever heard one. I think its true also, if this is the type of environment you envision living in, then I think it can have profound effects on you and your personal life. I am still an introvert, but am certainly more outgoing that I ever was in IL. Really nice to know how great Florida has been to you. Keep up the art, and I hope my videos continue to inspire you ✌️

I've asked them about their opinions of moving and all of them want to stay in ny. basically I'm the only one that wants a change of scenery. Looking for the all year around beautiful weather, looking to move somewhere much much much cheaper, cleanliness is a must, and I'm ready for that change even when it's most likely be just me all by myself moving to another state. sounds like Florida has alot to offer. I moved to United States back in 2001, I spent 10 years in San Francisco Bay Area, California is a great place to live, but the Real Estate prices are just insane, is way too much, plus the cost of many other things like gas for example, I remember prices of $5 a gallon.....from there I went to live with my brother in Boca Raton for one year and then I had another Year in Fort Myers, that was the year 2013, so I was getting ready to get back to the place I was considering at that time to be home, that is California, but I met a person online that changed those plans, so I moved to New Jersey. I have now 7 years living here, and I am done with this place, I am done with the cold as well, a month ago I was still turning on the heaters!......So my brother in Florida is pushing me to come back and I am getting ready to hit the road again....Im not sure about getting back to Boca, even when my brother is a good source of leads in regards with my work (High End Carpenter), but I like Boynton, Del Rey, more laid back small cities like that......anyway, I hope to continue enjoying your videos!

I am planning on moving to Florida this year. We usually visit Florida several times a year and without a shadow of a doubt, Florida is my happy place. We don’t know anyone but I am trusting my intuition and spirit.... and going to take a leap of faith and relocate to Beautiful South Florida.... living as close to the ocean as possible. Ocean front- Ocean View. Any suggestions or comments please reach out.
@MichaelBordenaro4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I like your plan! That is very similar to what I did coming here alone, and I didn't know anyone. If you are going to live here, I definitely recommend living on the ocean if that is your thing. I have lived on the ocean ever since I have lived here for the past 12 years and wouldn't have it any other way. I made some videos about oceanfront rentals I suggest you check out as well as a few other videos I made about where you should live in FL based on what you like to do 😊 I hope this helps!
@parker1ray4 жыл бұрын
We chose Port St Lucie because it is laid back and the home prices are still on the reasonable end. It is a 15 minute drive to the ocean, but if you want ocean front look at Stuart, Palm City or Jensen Beach. We chose not to live right on the water due to flood risk during hurricanes. PSL is high enough that you don not need flood insurance making insurance far cheaper that a coastal community. The economy here is good. I had a good job here withing a week of looking even during the pandemic. We also have a constant ocean breeze that moderates the temps in the summer. It is hot anywhere you go in Florida, but living close to the coast is a great help. We always have a good breeze even 10 miles in, and best of all we have sugar apples, orange trees, pineapples, Sapota(Chocolate pudding ), and dragon fruit cactus growing in the back yard!

We are blessed to live in a place where it's 85 degrees on Christmas Day and you're either in the pool or out on a dolphin cruise! Summers here are scorching, but winters are glorious (that's why there are so many snowbirds from up north.) Tip to note: for a year rounder, the longer you are here the thinner your blood will become and the less you will be able to tolerate any kind of cold. For that reason I suggest living below central Florida (draw a line across the middle of the state and live south of there.) Northern FL can get frosty and you will still need leather coats.

I would say that is probably one of the toughest parts of adapting to living here. I am not even sure if you ever really get used to it. @micmdaaussie3 ай бұрын
It's not for everyone!. If it works for you. great. But I spent a year in Orlando straight, so I had the chance to expierence the seasons in a row, from Late Spring (January). the first summer, the 3 month hot spell of June July and August, the second summer, and left before the following Late Spring. Winter? All 37 seconds of it. Here's a fun anecdote: One day, in t-shirt and shorts in November (the second summer) I went to a movie theater and it was 77F (25C) out. I buy the ticket and walk in, and notice the place was hot and humid inside, so I ask the ticket taker if the A/C was broken. He ran off to ask his boss and came back to tell (warn?) me it was OFF FOR THE WINTER! I was dumbfounded and should have asked for my money back. The weather climate was enough to put Florida as the first place to have in my bucket list of places to avoid except for an emergency landing - and the pilot had better have a good reason to land it there. It didn't help I was at a Navy training base there, but once I finally got out, I moved right back to Chicago, ice cold winter and all. Also, the more you find out about Florida the easier it is to dislike it - and women have a special reason to want to evacuate: The lawmakers in Tallahassee are the worst quack OB-Gyn doctors to be found, right there with Texas lawmakers.

Funny how people see & experience things differently. Born & raised in IL. I hate Florida. I'm inside most of the time because it's too hot. Beaches are crowded. Snowbirds make everything worse. People are rude. Driving is scary because people are nuts (and I used to drive in Chicago! ). Spent the last 20 years in WA state, I miss seasons, trees & mountains so much. Hurricane's. Oh, & there is nothing to do here. Glad you found your happy place, I just need to find mine.
