I've been crocheting for over 25 years. I can tell you, there are not many people who can crochet a cardigan in a day. In my case, it would never work because I have kids to homeschool and a house to clean. A lot of people are lucky to get an hour or 2 to crochet throughout the day. I've honestly noticed a huge spike in the use of these really bulky blanket yarns and I think its because they work up so quickly. People can see a tiktok video, grab some blanket yarn and a hook and create an entire item by the end of the day. People LOVE instant gratification. So, after all that, I'm just here to say that you are doing great and it's okay to take a longer time to create a piece of art!

I prob work slower. Some people have been crocheting for years or been multitasking (obviously cause they're good at it) so much they've managed to gain those skills. I crochet on my free time, for fun, not for a living like some of those people who show off their stuff. They usually tend to sell those things. Irl, a cardigan often will takes a week or more to make. A very small plushie with normal cotton yarn, will take me an entire day or even two sometimes to make. Don't fret over it, it's very normal. Crocheting isn't a competition who does it faster,do it at ur own pace and have ur fun 😊❤️

I was super frustrated with my first bulky yarn (Bernat Blanket, #6). A part of the problem was that I was trying to do a double crochet on too small of a hook that had a SHORT shaft. I got a larger hook with a longer shaft that didn't grab the yarn and tried again. Again, I felt like giving up, but then it suddenly 'clicked.' I made a pair of slippers with the same yarn.

Actual crochet & knit timing is a multi step process, done in 15 minute increments, using the main basic stitches, then a final 1 hour pattern test. For crochet: Count how many chain stitches you can make in 15 minutes. Then, multiply that by 4 to get CH’s per hour. Count how many SC in 15 minutes, multiple by 4 to get SC per hour. HDC in 15 minutes. Multiple by 4 to get HDC per hour. DC in 15 minutes. Multiply by 4 for DC’s per hour. Finally, from the beginning of a pattern, crochet nonstop for 1 hour. How far in the pattern did you get, Count the stitches per row/round to get where you stopped for total stitches per hour.

I would probably start off with a ch-2, go back into the 1st ch with your first row, skip the 2nd ch (like a turning chain-that way it doesn't show) instead of doing a magic ring. The hole will be tight but not quite invisible, but you won't have to pull on your yarn or have issues with the texture. I do this alot, if the hole is too big, you can stitch it closed afterwards with the beginning tail. Great video.

However because of health concerns at moment my beanies have been put on hold. But i am working on weight loss and getting my yarns together for my projects I presently have going on. I saw the title and was like oh... um... ten rows??? I'm getting back into it after not really crocheting much for a year. My hubby's waffle scarf is very popular at his work this year. I'm doing ten rows a day and I'm pretty surprised I'm keeping that up o.o I will not be charging for my time because I'm desperate for money and she'd probably not pay for the time put in >.< So just charging for materials. It is making me fall back into love with crochet, as if I don't have enough projects XD But with ten rows a day it lets me do other stuff too and I don't get sore. I'll prolly increase it maybe but I am trying to start a gaming channel and I'm a full time Mom aaaand I'm autistic and adhd so this is a really good spot for me right now I think. With the ten rows a day not the charge... drama.

I've done a lot of experimenting with velvet yarns, some of which are super fragile (You could look at them the wrong way and they little suckers start to fray and the velvet will start to fall off.) What I've found to work best is to make those beginning stitches looser than you normally would. Especially the beginning slip stitch, cause that one tends to be the tightest, and can make your MR can stuck super easily. But once I started making my first stitches looser, it made it so much easier and didn't actually affect the look of the plushies at all. Your stuff is sooo adorable!! Good luck on your crocheting journey! ^w^

if you don’t like the little piece of yarn sticking out to make you restart just turn it inside out when you’re almost done and then crochet it closed, it looks neater too in my opinion

I loved watching you crochet! I just started and I really enjoyed crocheting with you!:)) it’s very discouraging seeing such speedy hands on other workers. I will say for a beginner my hands aren’t as slow(it’s not a bad thing to be slow) as some others but I’ve also got experience from 11 year old me lol, it was really fun and seeing some of your plushies you made gave me ideas😁

I’m glad you enjoyed this video! I agree, sometimes I felt like I wasn’t good enough because I couldn’t crochet extremely fast, but now I have learned to enjoy the process rather than crocheting fast 😊

Just discovered your channel, it’s so calming, it’s lots of fun watching other crochet. I definitely want to try this challenge out. ☺️

you probably already know this, but a much easier way for magic circles is to chain 2, and work all your sc stitches into the first chain u made! (it also tightens MUCH better.)😊

i would unironically buy a giant crochet diva cup from u in a heartbeat HAHAHA

When I use the chunky I do like one chain two chain the put how many stitches I need in the first stitch works just as well as a regular magic ring

A tip for any beginners or anyone, it’s best to take the middle string of the yarn that way you don’t have to constantly unwind or your yarn won’t get tangled as easy!
@peachy_bits2 жыл бұрын
My only concern about this is all the outside yarn collapsing and getting tangled at the end 😂

@@peachy_bits haha yeah it does happen sometimes! I never have mine organized but I think both ways work! :) I love your videos btw

That koya plush is so cute!! The dedication is real I am very slow at crocheting but it’s definitely worth it in the end😭

Oh also with yarn that chunk you could probably get away with starting with a two chain ring instead of a magic circle. The chanel or whatever sort of yarn like that is such a pain and frogging it just ruins it usually. I always have to try complicated patterns I've never done before >.> best plan.

For chunky or fluffy yarn I always chain 2 n crochet into the second chain from hook way easier than magic ring cos I always split the yarn
