The price of this car is crazy nowadays. I got my 2019 CTR 2 years ago with 1300 miles on it for 38k from a private seller. The previous owner spent 53k to get it from the dealership. Anyway, welcome to the CTR family bro!

Bro… i can relate. Ive had two of them… an 18 and now a 21 and have gotten a little burned each time in the buying process. Luckily they hold value like crazy. I don’t know your needs, but if I were you, I’d throw a down payment on an incoming gr86 (30k msrp) and jump ship on the type r while the market is crazy hot. I think your KZbin content wise wouldn’t suffer and numbers would be just as good? Save a bunch of money. Slide in later if/when things cool if you just have to have it. Just an opinion and one I consider myself.

Damn for a used car you got scammed, you must have low credit. I got mine 2019 CTR back on October , 5 Miles Brand New $35k with 2.39% APR, with credit score 670 at the time , Now I'm at 760. $400 monthly. You just needed to play hardball, I walked in 4 different dealers , 2 called back with great price and I bought the main show car

@@93notofthisworld imo he definitely did. No matter what people say I will not overpay for something even if I can afford it because in the long run I'm only hurting myself. I understand that he REALLY wanted the Type R but with that high of an APR I would have walked away for a car that's around 40k. Build yourself up first and when you're smarter financially you make better decisions because in the end your limiting your financial options of what you could've used the money for elsewhere, like putting it in an investment account that will grow 10% or more a year. Then in 5 years that interest you got from saving the money rather than paying for it out of pocket would have mostly paid for itself. For a car I would say you should only use about 10% of your monthly net not gross. I would say 15% is pushing it but nothing above that. So if he's paying around lets say 800 a month then his monthly net income should be 8000. Gross pay or salary to make this car feasible should be around 150k. If the car is worth half your yearly salary then I think you're making poor financial decisions and setting yourself back a few years but you live and learn. I'm not a financial advisor but you're not saving for your future like you should and living to pay for a car...

I mean a 9% rate for and i assume you are young, low credit history and as you say first time car buyer. So you were gonna get a poor rate. If you can make the payments do it. I strongly recommend you build ur credit get a simple credit card pay balances in full (can be small amounts) get that credit established and in good faith. And then when you have your credit score at a better place refinance the horrible rate you got from the dealer. You can do it man. Congratulations on the car though! We've all been there! Good job!

This was a great video. I'm also in SoCal and I just got my brand new Type R two weeks ago (2021 Sonic Gray Pearl). Took me literally 3 weeks of calling dealerships, but I got them to sell it to me a little above MSRP, and I got them to throw in some packages/add-ons. Traded in my White 2015 SI Sedan + cash down payment. I ended up getting 3% APR (also first car buying by myself with no-cosigner). Either way man, happy for you and your Type R. Definitely a dream car, can't wait to see what else you do with it!
