I GOT AN EMAIL from the ins comp the other day, told me they wouldn`t insure me !!!!!! i`ve made no claims EVER, missed no payments, i thought , sod ya, not a problem, then started looking, EVERYBODY`S insurance in the uk had at least doubled , anyway, after much much searching, i found an insurer who did it for slightly less than last year, just proves my point, don`t give up.................

I would say the prices are high In the uk due to theft but also they write them off for as much as a scratch because the courtesy car costs are higher than the repairs.

Hi all We paid 27K PHP for our new Ford Ranger, but that's fully comprehensive. I really wouldn't recommend having 3rd party in the Philippines. We lived in Manila for 4 years and now live in the province. There are seriously bad drivers/riders everywhere. Just not worth the risk, even if you think you are a good driver. Cheers.

I saved alot of money last year doing it myself, I was with the AA for decades and for no reason they upped the price by 3x in price. I went on go compare manually and got insurance from Ford for a really good price. More than half of what the AA wanted. I understand they lost alot of customers over it

Just had my car insurance renewal Alan 265 last year 389 this year so I'm going to shop around got full no claims for last 20 years no points on license 2006 focus ghia 2.0 diesel it's like new only 90 thousand am 64 x long distance lorry driver doesn't mean anything just blatant thieving take care mate.

When you buy a brand new car in the Philippines, it normally comes with a 3 year registration. Some dealers included in the price or some want you to pay separately.

Being in the motor industry for more than 30 years, you see some sights when it comes to what is driven and how it's driven. Especially tyres! We had a puncture done on the pick-up yesterday (thankfully it was in the middle of the tread and not the sidewall). I was gritting my teeth when I say how the guy plugged the hole. In Germany I paid for my Mondeo 2010. 160€ technical inspection (but its guilty for 2 years). So lets say 80€ a year. Plus 340€ insurance that has a package of covering the driver and passangers if I do the crash and other bonuses like if I hit wildlife or my car burns down. Makes- > 420€.. which would be totally fine BUT now I have a Diesel! And I have to pay a tax that is a whooping 250€ a year! Normal gas would be probabaly just 90€. They rip off diesel drivers! So total cost of that is 670€ just for my car standing still and doing nothing.

I have a 2014 diesel mondeo tax is £35 a year, I have buisness insurance which is about £800ish a year, diesel is more expensive than petrol currently a litre of diesel in my part of England in the south west is about 1.53 a litre. We have alot of german and dutch holiday makers here on holiday at the moment.

And I dont know how it is in other countries. The longer you own a license and drive a car accident free, the less you pay for your insurance each ear. But I guess its the same in England.

@alan4x I remember My dad back then alan taking a Peugeot 306 tdi out for a test drive it was the first diesel we had been in as a family and being impressed by thr way it shot up the hill lmao 🤣 before then in the uk diesels were vans. Also how modern looking that 306 was back in those days. Until then dad always had volkswagon petrol cars like the beetle and golf gti's I learnt to drive in his mk2 golf, he didn't like the mk3 so that is why we looked at the 306. Still see the odd 306 knocking around in britain 🇬🇧.
