My grandfather started a little car business at age 60 and by age 70 it was not so little any more. He worked at it full - time until he was 75 and went at it part - time until he was about 85. He kept his workshop until the very end though. You remind me a lot of him. I hope that your post 60 years turn out to be some of your greatest!

A word of warning, my friend: Make sure you have the finances' setup on this side of the border, too. When I was a contractor, I chose to still pay CPP and EI and kept adding to my RRSP and TFSA. Always listen to my bookkeeper, she knew best and has helped me so much. On the other hand, since it seems to become one of those things like running out of time on EI I have decided to throw my towel in the rink, I have been approached for some short contracts that I might take. As always, I enjoy your transparencies and the sheer fun you show in YT.

Just a tip. Always make your videos 8 minutes if possible so KZbin can insert mid roll ads on the video. It really increases your revenue.

I think the initial videos got people hooked on the fear of getting fired in old age and not being able to be re-hired. If I were you, I would probably center my content on expanding more on how you manage to still survive, given the circumstances.

I learned from another KZbin channel that you shouldn’t hit the like button right away and let the video play for a couple minutes because it helps with the algorithm and eliminating looking like a bot pushing the video out more. I don’t know if this is true, but he’s got a great channel and he deserves the extra effort. So, please just let the video play at least halfway through before you hit the light button in hopes that it helps❤

Martin. You shouldent be paying that US tax as a Canadian creator. You fill out a declaration for US/Canada tax treaty with youtube. I am also a canadian creator and ZERO dollars are withheld from Google on payment.

It often happens.. There is a plateau at some point. Also, the time of year does have something to do with it. The problem with attempting to live off of the revenue, is that you now constantly have to make videos to keep up with income needs. Now, you never get a day off, you are constantly planning the next video. There is a hack though. The bigger channels will actually make videos in advance, so they can take a couple of days off to unwind. It is a great idea to avoid burnout. Congrats! I will be happy to post my first dollar I make on my wall.

If you make a dollar here and there that’s nice but not the point right. I suspect for the moment anyway, you enjoy creating even without the money. Your channel might be available to be viewed long after we are both gone right. Might be cool for family who will never know you right. Kind of an amazing thought.
