@yankeeinjapan88693 сағат бұрын
@@TokyoJuul8008 it is wild. I’ve been here in Japan almost a decade and that’s a common thing for Japanese people to say. Even when it comes to things they dislike about themselves or their culture, they say “Because I’m Japanese.” I guess after being here so long I’ve stopped judging them for such things. I just avoid those kind of ppl and choose to deal with more culturally aware individuals. Thing is, tho, Japanese culture and education is so engrained into them, that some people just can’t break out of that mould without some outside influence. After all, as the saying goes “The nail that sticks up gets hammered down.” Unfortunately , a lot of behavior here is molded by pressure to conform, a fear of standing out, risk and conflict avoidance, and saving face. When that is hammered into your head since childhood, and you never leave the country (note these are all young girls and most seem like the typical, “can’t think for myself Japanese girls”), it’s hard to break habit. You would be surprised how unfamiliar Japanese people are with anything outside their country. All some of them know is what they see on TV, because they don’t normally have chances to interact with foreigners I don’t agree with ghosting someone and think it’s a cowardly thing to do, but I can understand “why” she said…It’s because I’m Japanese. Bc that’s a hell of a lot to unpack

@@yankeeinjapan8869 the biggest problem is that they’re so intellectually lazy about it to the point where it only reinforces the behavior. a lot of “cultural” beliefs that they have are embarrassing and antisocial.
@yankeeinjapan88693 сағат бұрын
@ Oh yeah I totally agree. I guess just after being here so long I’ve learned to just avoid individuals like that. There is a reason why ppl here are avoiding romance and marriage, and it’s not just “economics.” I’ve long thought that many behaviors here are based on pressure and fear. Unfortunately, there’s also a lack of effort and frankly an unwillingness to do so. I’ve noticed that some ppl will say statements as if it’s their own opinion, when it’s just what they’ve heard others say and they haven’t even experienced the thing they’re talking about. “It’s just my image.” Stuff they see online, never any anecdotal evidence to back it up. I think every Japanese person should spend at least some time overseas.

Greetings from Chicago, Illinois -- Ghosting someone is a coward's way of not wanting to communicate with the other person. These individuals are not into confronting the other person, and telling the person face-to-face WHY they are NO longer interested in pursuing the relationship. It's rude to "ghost" someone. TELL THE PERSON why you aren't interested in continuing the relationship. Unless the other person is a psycho (eg., stalker or has mental issues) -- then it is safer (better) to "ghost" the other person.

Most men don't ghost because of a mood, women operate on emotions and feelings and do it because of their mood.
