Hey, thank you for the comment! Suzuki Racing Contingency Program is where Suzuki pays for the riders.

And lets consider that only 1% at best of all amateurs have the talent to do it for a living and that you need to develop inside a very costly and complex system of training, equipment, maintenance, travel, nutrition. Also, at the pro level it's a 12 month per year gig- making a living as a motorcycle pro is extremely unlikely for nearly all competitors. So- enjoy the amateur ranks and make the most of it while you're young, single, and strong. My .02 cents from racing about 6 years back in the day.

When I see how much some of the other sports people make it makes me sick . Motocross riders are way above the personal sacrifices and training and physical punishment other sports people make. Have seen the financial burden of trying to get good riders to pro rank cause divorces and personal emotional destruction to really good riders that can't afford to get there. If the riders who couldn't get there managed to make it they would make the sport much better. There is one kid whom my family knew and rode with that spanked all the guys whom are now in the 450 class easily. LUKE H.you should be there .

So many variables. Top guys could make $5 mill total and some privateers spend more then they make. Average rider on a team would be around 100k per year

Even before watching the vid it’s 1000% not worth it unless your winning everything but the family’s have spent all their money to help their son reach the dream of being a champion so they aren’t going to let that dream go with that much lost

You know what, as our sport doesn't get a lot of purse but what comes out of it is heart and passion. Look at the privateers they sacrifice just to get in a night race and or main event. Then you have the factory guys that get benefits from the manufacturers and sponsors. Thier is many Disciplines of motocross but it's all the same when it comes down to the specifications of opportunity. What's not worth having fun? This sport is severely dangerous but they take chances motocross is for the core fans of the sport not the money. Motorsports are not easy to get into anyways dedication and passion is what's needed.

I kinda think your close with your numbers, but until someone gets it straight from a top rider, it's still just a guesstimate. It's the best kept secret what top riders are paid.
