People saying golf is an old mans sport and boring, are people who never went near it happening, let alone tried it. The list if people I know who first said that and after being dragged to the range for a first lesson with a pro went total maniac and can't stop playing is substantial. 😅 It's just because they mostly have no idea what golf is, they just heard of it.

Totally agree, the game opens so many door and has loads of benefits. All we can do is try and grow the game and make them aware

this is why golf is the best major sport in the world by far cause compared to other major sports golf doesn't require you to run around and exchange punches with anyone all you have to do is swing and score as high as you can it also pays you tens to hundreds of millions if you're a good pro it also allows you to represent your country in the olympics so a significantly way easy sport that can make you millions and be able to participate in the olypics yeah golf is for you

Excellent follow up question. This is a good overview and breakdown example of the gross earnings. The net. after taxes, miscs, cost to acquire and repair equipment, is key

Do PGA players get a pension after retirement or a monthly payment like NFL players?
@CasualWaterGolf2 жыл бұрын
From what I have read online, the PGA Tour pension package is the best out their and have some sort of deferred income from their winnings for retirement. They need to play a stipulated amount of events yearly and if they make the cut, it gets even better

Bottom line is, unless you're Tiger Woods, these guy make peanuts compared to most other sportsmen.
@CasualWaterGolf2 жыл бұрын
Far from it, golf is definitely the right market to be in if you are decent, not many sportsmen can amass the wealth these guys have over the years

@@CasualWaterGolf I think you need to check your facts. Footballers in UK lower divisions are making more money. NBA, MLB, NFL contracts are far more lucrative and they're allowed to move to different clubs for higher wages. PGA runs 50+ tournaments year. Average winners cheque is about $1.5m . A relative pittance. Look at it this way. 1 player could win every PGA event in the year and still only make about half of what Lionel Messi or other premium athletes make/year. Golf doesn't figure anywhere in the top spots earners list. LIV doing something about it perhaps.
