I CONSTANTLY think about the fact im losing money on electricity while trynna enjoy a game, meanwhile some people are earning 10x more money than people with dangerous jobs, while playing the exact same game as me. I FULLY understand they had to put in the work first, but still, its tough to not get a little depressed about lmao. Like anytime i achieve anything on ow, or ANY game for that matter, its followed up with the thought "Well im not earning money for this, so who cares? it was basically a pointless waste of time". Anyway i hope you dont get any trouble for this video since some twitch subs of someone in this vid could see this, then realize they're kinda just throwing their money into an abyss, and decide to not sub again. Speaking of subs, i think you deserve more on here

Flats does run super aggro ads. I remember watching his stream and getting like 7 ads every 10 minutes

What really rubs me the wrong way about this is that Flats is that he tries to come off relatable so hard. I used to watch a bit of his content (honestly can't stand it anymore), and I remember some comments of how he has no real cookware in his kitchen, or the same one for a really long time, background is bare, etc. I don't really have evidence for this, so maybe I'm talking wrong about him, but to me it seemed like he wants his viewers to think he has way less than he does. He wants to come off as a super relatable dude, and honestly seems like he doesn't want people to know he's well off, while simultaneously basically running a soulless content farm and getting rich of it. And I'm sure he does it because people would probably be less inclined to give money to someone they saw as "the millionare" than to someone they saw as "the relatable Overwatch guy". Which makes the fact that he's seeminlgy hiding it even slimier imo, like you know your fanbase of average dudes and children is going to pay you less when they know you're rich, so you actively try not to seem rich. It would bother me a lot less if people rich off of YT/Twitch were more honest about it, so that if kids still want to support their favourite content, at least they know a little bit more their money is going to someone already insanely rich. Personally, I would not donate for that reason, even if I loved the content. I think your conclusion at the end is very true. They are business men, Flats runs a content farm, they are not voices of Overwatch players, at least not first.

Why is Flats a controversial figure in streaming? I havent really followed OW comp/streaming since early 2019 so Im kind of out of the loop.
@nooptiuiАй бұрын
he’s always mad about something, he doesn’t really seem to enjoy the game so it reflects in his content, and instead of quitting the game he keeps playing just for the money

saying the current situation of the game is at its "worst state" just shows how uninformed you are. You probably watched monthly "REAL REASON WHY OVERWATCH IS DYING" videos by youtubers who last touched the game back in 2018 and took the slop video essay at face value.

@@thebighoney9034 To begin with, i dont even watch these videos ? I've been playing OW2 for 2 years now and i always tried to look at the positive side of the game, but denying its huge flaws while i constantly play this game mean im uninformed ?

I mean he was before, but flats blew up big time during ow2. Though super has a level of success that hardly any of the other OW streamers besides surefour have a claim to and its that he maintains most of his viewership when playing variety. For context, super's schedule is usually OW from 8-12am, and then variety from 12-4am. All at est. During this period on the variety game, he will maintain about 3k viewers. For context most other overwatch streamers who do variety average less than half their viewership or less when doing variety. Basically super while he isn't as big of a content machine as flats, he has secured himself independence from OW and is established as a streamer whos watched for him and not the game. Hes also pretty well known in other gaming spaces relative relative to all the current biggest ow streamers. Most of the other overwatch streamers on the other hand are essentially shackled to the game and treat variety as a once in a while thing rather than a core part of their stream. So essentially super sacrificed being the biggest streamer in the game for the comfort of existing as his own. Which froma perspective of happiness is really great for the guy.
