Hola from Queretaro. I was born in Chicago in 1942 Southside, and happy I obeyed my parents. I live in Queretaro now since 2021. I wish you the best, and stay away from drugs, drinks and lust. Be honest. Do not marry, shack, or have babies. Live alone is safer. Hola from Queretaro. I have been speaking Spanish since age 14. Merida was too hot. I never wanted a house in Acapulco, but I rented a home, had a timeshare, rented rooms and apartments. I am in my 82nd year living in Queretaro since 2021. I was 20 in 1962, when I came alone from Chicago on a 2 weeks vacation to Mexico, from the border down to Acapulco. You are never alone, when nice families are around, and beware of the evil and scammers around. Earthquakes were the deal breakers for not retiring to Acapulco. I always worked, and never asked anyone for anything. I am a giver to nice and honest none beggars, and my 411 is FREE. USA got too dangerous, so I left at 79, for I would have eliminated the John Gacy look alike trying to get into my heavily blocked apartment with a key at all hours of the day and night. I was being poisoned for life insurance, but God warned me, and he took care of the evil demon. God protects me, but I do protect myself also by any means necessary. I have had to protect myself from evil demons, no matter where I live. I pity the fool, who tries to eliminate me. I have traveled all 50 USA states and the world on my own dime from WORKING A JOB, that paid every 2 weeks, overtime, and paid vacations up to 6 weeks. Never needed a go fund to travel. I speak Spanish and other languages since age 14 as a second language. I survived the USA for 79 years and earned all my income there. A nice pension and small savings support me and allows me to help non beggars. I can smell scammers and dishonesty a block away, and then I block their behinds.

Jamie Gruber did a similar video in Punta Cana for a family of 4. The cost was about $5000US, that's The expenses with two children in private school And the high electricity cost of CEPM, the electricity company, which holds a monopoly in Punta Cana. So as you said, it varies based on where you are mthe DR, family size and other extra activities you may engage in. I'd likely be spending what you spend, but just for me alone and i wouldn't pay any rent as i have my own property (Just HOA).

Thanks for the real information. Visiting in May again. Love Puerto Plata. Punta Cana is good but i can tell they have been developing a lot in the past 12 years. It depends if you want on the beach, which is always more or more inland is less. Fiber internet seems to be fast but unreliable. Satelite internet seems to be an option in more rural areas.

I love DR, but my total expenses are about $4,000 a month in the US (house worth $600K with a mortgage of only $1284). My taxes is a big part of my $4K. It seems that there's a lot of nickel and diming in the US because my mortgage is only 32% of the my expenses (no credit card debt or car loans). Maybe I should buy a place in DR and just live in both places

The budget is a very interesting look into quality of life through your lens. You are right the socialized side of the any budget depends on the individuals. Is it worth at any point to purchase a house or condo given the affordable rents? Enjoyed the point of view.
@James-kd1kp8 ай бұрын
Depending on where you look in the DR compared to the US, you could potentially get a relatively new villa or condo for less than a house in the US. You could then get residency and a second passport as well.

I wanted to give you good feedback on a video you made about 1 year ago. You listed the banks that were paying high interest rate yields on money denominated in dollars and money invested using Dominican Pesos. I found this interesting, but you did not cover the protection against bank failure in your country. So, for example, in the USA we have FDIC insurance in case a bank goes out of business. Also, my ex is from Brasil and I remember she told me that the Brasilian government stole money from people's bank accounts maybe 40-50 years ago. What protection would my money have invested in a CD or some other type of high interest account have? Also, what if a foreign bank fails...not a Dominican bank? Is the protection different for domestic banks vs foreign banks? Also, can you do another video based interest rate paid on deposits? Maybe you could do an interview with a private banker in Santo Domingo to cover the investment options foreigners can participate in?
@NorberisR8 ай бұрын
The rate depends on the time you go to the bank, the particular bank, how long you keep the deposit, and if it's in pesos or dollars. So if I do another one if you are not ready to invest that day then it can change. It is best when you are ready to buy a CD to go and shop a few different banks to get rate. As far as if your money is insured I can find that out.
@1hummus8 ай бұрын
