I got this call for ceiling fans, new fans. One fan was SO fancy it took over two hours to construct and hang it! Fortunately, when they have money for the fancy stuff they don't balk on a fair price.

That's a good way to do it, at a certain point you will get such a large call volume that you can't go look at every job, I only do in-person estimates for about 10% of the jobs now. But I give a large range of what it may cost and let them know I will give them a solid price when we get there to do the job if they're interested in that price range. It lets me know if they're interested at that price range, and if we're going to be able to work together at all.

Do you have furniture in the way? I have had ceiling fans that take 4.5 to 5 hours to install. No box in the ceiling, no existing circuit, vaulted ceiling. Wireless remote kit, lighting kit, huge heavy bed in the way, long down rod kits, waiting for customer to find checkbook,etc. Great video, thanks

I always figure on installing a fan rated box. I see alot of fans on non fan rated boxes, last week pulled down a fan that was mounted to a 4x4 square metal box the new canopy wouldn't cover the hole so also had to go buy a medallion
