It’s not cheap for Brazilians earning the average salary. But it’s for sure around 50% cheaper than the US and as much as 75% cheaper when you include housing. All depends on your lifestyle and where you live.

My girl and I typically spend around $2,000 a month, covering all our expenses. On average, we earn about double that amount, and collectively, we work around 60 hours per month. I have friends with varying income levels-some manage to live on $600 a month, while others comfortably spend between $5,000 and $20,000. It really comes down to individual lifestyle choices. One of my biggest regrets is not investing in property here in Brazil. After crunching the numbers, my partner and I realized that with the rent we've paid over the last decade, we could have easily owned a property outright by now.
