I found that buying loose onions is way cheaper than the 3 pack in the supermarket (I’m in UK obs from my St George cross) but in our supermarkets pre packed onions (3of) is like over £1 and they aren’t that big but, I can buy 4 large loose ones for 92ish pence, so now I check pre packed fruit and vegetables against loose. Also, I always bought a brand name smiley face mashed potato things that you fry (in my case, air fry) for my granddaughter but one time recently they were sold out so I resorted to buying the shop brand stars which are way cheaper only to find that this is what her mum buys and what she prefers 🤷🏻♀️ win win 😂. Oh, plus, the price marked up is what we pay, our vat is included we don’t have to add tax on at the end of the shop. ❤

Since I'm shopping only for myself and pets in the household, I don't buy as wide a range of products as you do for your large family. I can see how shopping for a big family would offer savings on many things. But I do think it's a good deal for me for things like paper products, cleaning supplies, some frozen foods, batteries, snack foods. I also think their prepared dinner foods are a good deal for what you get.

There were digital coupons for sone of the items at Safeway such as the cherries for $2.79 instead of what you paid. Cantaloupe is often $3 eaxh with the coupon at Safeway. I always use the Safeway app and clip all the coupons and save a ton. Comes out much cheaper than Costco.
@quAdxify2 күн бұрын
That is the problem with Safeway though, why make it so complicated, I don't wanna bother with your stupid app before shopping every time, just apply that shit automatically like any sane store did in the past.

This is a video I would have liked to do years ago when my kids were still at home. It is usually cheaper to buy larger quantities. I still buy larger quantities of meat and separate them. I buy very little processed food too. You could make chicken nuggets at home without the added STUFF. Did you read the ingredients on the chicken nuggets? But you are doing a great job getting the best food you can. We have been buying fresh eggs from the Amish in our area....$2.00 a dozen.

So a few bucks of saving for going into a herd of elephants to buy stuff...I think that certain things are cheaper at costco in bulk..but I like shopping calmly without herds of people....at different stores and Safeway has a membership discount and has sales a lot too...besides, unless you have a bigggg family I would not do all shopping at costco.. also...costco lures you into coming out with a 5 to 700 dollar bill if you are fully shopping there...and yes waste us bigggg only makes since with suma wrestling families for full shopping..

I feel like because you guys are a bigger family costco is economical for you guys, like 40 juice boxes for 11.99 just cant be beaten and you guys will definitely consume all the food. However, I think smaller households and individuals do not gain as much with costco shopping. I live alone and am a smaller woman so when I buy bulk (dry or frozen) it takes me a couple months to finish anything. I think people are just shopping too much nowadays and the pandemic made people develop a hoarding attitude.

Costco is the only really good US (California) store for groceries I think. Good quality at good prices. Safeway is a straight-up scam, Walmart and the likes are low quality and the likes of Whole Foods are rather expensive but at least good quality. Trader joes is probably a close 2nd after Costco but has far less selection and probably somewhat lower quality but is still a decent bang for the buck tbf.
