@Circuit Carbon Yes quartz can definitely be expensive. However, you can probably cut a $4600 price in half or double it depending on the size of kitchen, material type, cut-outs, edge-finishing, backsplash and other factors.

What do fabricators charge to cut,polish and install a slab. Do they double the price of the slab or have a flat charge per square foot?? no sink cutout and standard edge.

It can range depending on the fabricator, where you live, the quality of the slab, etc. We have an article on our website that might be of help! lamontbros.com/how-much-does-a-quartz-countertop-cost/

But I sell quartz starting at that price and upwards of 100.00 a foot . But if you like it and if that’s what your willing to pay for it is it worth it to you . Visit the shops you want to do business with and check stuff out . I’ve never heard of that brand I sell LG vitara . Some of quartz one and Cambria

What does it cost for one that doesn’t stain.
@DesignBuildRemodeling
@DesignBuildRemodeling 3 жыл бұрын
There are different levels of stain resistance. Most of the good level quartz is very hard to strain-some of the best level countertops have additional sealing technology that improves that makes it nearly impossible.
@TheBooban
@TheBooban 3 жыл бұрын
@@DesignBuildRemodeling yeah, but does this sealant fail over time? Whats the cost of the high quality one that doesn’t need sealant? Or another stone that doesn’t stain. Because it makes no sense to use this stone if it stains.
@DesignBuildRemodeling
@DesignBuildRemodeling 3 жыл бұрын
They'll give you a 25 year warranty. If you are very worried about staining and the countertops will have extra heavy use, I'd recommend switching from Quartz to some type of sintered stone such as Deckton by Cosentino.
@TheBooban
@TheBooban 3 жыл бұрын
@@DesignBuildRemodeling if you get a stain in 25 years, they give you a new counter top? Yeah, I wouldn’t accept a tomato stained white top. Throw it out. Forget to reseal, get a stain. I don’t understand why people have those tops at all. I would go for quartz (edit i mean those others you said), though it doesn’t have the heat resistance. I was really hoping there was a kind of stone that had both qualities. Thanks for the info.
@DesignBuildRemodeling
@DesignBuildRemodeling 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheBooban Yes, if you're looking for full heat-resistance and maximum stain resistance go with a sintered stone. Dekton is what we'll specify most of the time.

You rip people off. I am a retired homebuilder and live in Phoenix. I just (March 2921) installed Kitchen with 13 linear foot of counters plus a 40 by 107 inch island and ufermount sink using one jumbo 3cm slab of Cambria Annica (luxury series). I used an established fabricator who has been in business for about 30 years. Total installed cost: $4400.

Richard--thanks for the input and information. I find it fascinating to hear how prices vary around the country. I regularly hear that stone work (specifically tile, but also other work) is much cheaper in Arizona than in the Pacific Northwest. That seems to have a lot to do with the cost of living and housing. Zillow says Phoenix's average home is valued at $314,071 compared to an average home in Portland at $511,587 and Seattle at $816,718. If the fabricator's labor force has to afford a home that's 163% times the cost of one in Phoenix, he commands a higher wage. That's my current hypothesis. Do you have any other insight as to why prices vary so vastly? What does an hourly carpenter generally make down there? You'll also be getting a better price if you buy direct from a fabricator instead of as part of a larger remodeling project through a design/build company or kitchen/bath showroom. We are the latter, so you should expect a higher price from us than if we had a fabrication shop in-house.
@richardhay645

@@DesignBuildRemodeling Customers should definitely buy direct from a fabricator. The place where I had the custom cabinets made included a bid (didn't ask for it) for the countertops. They were $5700. Another bid diect from a different fabricator was $4800. Incidentally, the fabricator claims they pay Cambria $2200 for the slab of jumbo Annicca 3cm polished. Naturally Cambria won't confirm. (I just called MN factory a few minutes ago!) You asked about carpenters. I am continuing to remodel my home and my remodeler carpenter who also does my plumbing and electrical and did the cabinet insts)action charges $30 per hour. For tile,I am currently installing 48 x 24 inch 6mm porcelain with 1/16 grout lines with labor only of $4.75 per net sq foot. Seems to be going rate for large format tile over tile installation using primer and modified thin set plus epoxy grout. Going rate for labor only regular size porcelain with standard conditions starts at about $3 per sq foot plus setting materials.

'you rip people off'. Are you serious? maybe an apology is in order. Do you know prices vary around the country. Do you know the price of a house in San Francisco, Boston or the $ per hour payable for various jobs in comparison to Arizona, texas or Mississippi. There is no comparison.
@richardhay645
@richardhay645 3 жыл бұрын
@@Ghrainne I don't know who you represent but you obviously have some skin in the game to be so defensive. Yes prices vary but the prices quoted in the video are absurd. Plus remodeling contractors almost always have large markups on goods and services they source. Avoid these stupid markups by sourcing your own cabinets, countertops, flooring etc. Only hire remodeling contractors for work they do themselves.

@@hanialturk5981 Chinese quartz slabs tend to use a higher percentage of resin (30%) than American companies (3%), which makes countertops susceptible to melting and scorching, which is only one of the many differences between the two. Basically it’s the old “you get what you pay for”.
