A quality bathroom including products, tiles, installation, tiling, rubbish removal and materials from a professional firm costs between £15-30k in the South East. Cheap fixings, particularly from online usually last no more that 5 years. I know because I strip these bathrooms out every week and see which products last 5 years and which last 30+ years. It's so easy to achieve the instagram look cheaply, but it rarely lasts.

Great advice and for the ballpark figure in the South East, thank you. I totally agree, pay peanuts, get monkeys. It was the best advice we took from our plumber, it's too easy to be taken in by the cheap products online, and usually they're the ones with the most advertising so they entice you in first.

Did the price include all the materials such as sink, tiles etc used for the bathroom too?
@NicoleSage2 ай бұрын
Yes it did, everything was included in the plumber cost 😊
@Babybanks12 ай бұрын
@@NicoleSage wow that's really good, what would the cost have been if you hadn't done the demolition yourselves because I don't think I have the skills to do the demo myself lol
@NicoleSage2 ай бұрын
@@Babybanks1 Definitely kept the cost down, this was in the South West. Rip out took around 2 days, so I reckon this would have been around an extra £1k if we got someone in to do this, with waste removal.

What type of shower tray do you recommend? Is acrylic good?
@NicoleSageАй бұрын
Avoid plastic as it's flimsy, I'm not 100% sure about acrylic, but we had quartz in this bathroom and would really recommend.
@My-hatАй бұрын
@ is quartz slippy? Is it hard to clean and maintain? I know quartz countertops have to be looked after a certain way? Only certain chemicals and do they get water marks?? I’m all for easiest cleaning / lowest maintenance!

How do you know what is a good or bad quality fixture? Where do you recommend getting them from , thanks 😊

Morning! Usually online places such as Victorian Plumbing are very cheap to purchase from, but it's usually much poorer quality and will only last a few years. I always recommend going to a local plumbing supplier if you can, you can show them what you like and they can then source the items for you, they often give you a discount anyway, or if you have a plumber they can pass a trade discount onto you. Hope that helps!

@ thank you so much for all your replies, it is very kind of you! I will be getting a company to do the lot! I need a total refit. I have no diy expertise or willing 😆. I’m trying to do as much research but it’s very overwhelming. I don’t know anyone personally who could help or guide me, I’m afraid of being ripped off but even more afraid of getting bad quality items and workmanship etc! .How does it work with fixtures if a company is doing it all? Will they provide a selection or is best if I get them from a plumbing merchant / wholesale etc, i honestly wouldn’t know what was good or bad quality or anything 🥺. I just don’t know where to start with types of materials, even down to tile size! I have a very small bathroom and I’m thinking of removing the bathroom and just getting a shower in its place. It’s currently tiled floor to ceiling too, which I dislike and the grout mainatainance is horrendous! I’ll prob keep in same layout as there really aren’t many options. It’s very narrow and has a window in the middle of the back / outside wall facing the door. Plus as yiu have said, it costs more and is more hassle to move fixtures etc

Great video and info, this is really helpful. We are also looking to remodel our bathroom of similar size. We have worked out the cost for the fittings and furniture we like at around £4k. Do you have idea of what would be reasonable for cost of labor (demolition, tiling, plastering and installation)?
@NicoleSage Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment and glad it was helpful! We did the majority of work ourselves so unsure what labour costs would be on top, I'd recommend getting 3 different quotes for work as it's dependent where you are in the country too, good luck with the remodel!

Really struggling with what layout i would like for our bathroom. Our bathroom and toilet are separate but would like to knock the stud wall between them down and make it just one room, take away the bath and just have a shower (the same length as the bath) but would like a sink with a light up mirror above it, only problem being is there is a window just above the sink 😏, i just cant figure out what way would be best xx

Great and helpful video though there goes the budget I thought I made because I did go for cheaper fixtures etc. Would love it if you could help with a bathroom layout that we just can't figure out. It is a bathroom of a house that we are in the process of purchasing..

Thank you! Yes - please do send me the layout to hello@sleek-chic.co.uk and I'll have a look and let you know what I think!
