@@destroyedtelephone4124 I came from the hood, too. I watched my neighbor get shot and killed in front of my own eyes. I saw drug deals and rapes on a weekly basis. Our house was broken into 7 times. I still managed to get a scholarship and a PhD and now live in one of the best gated suburbs near Houston. I employ hundreds of staff and donate to meaningful causes. It means you know what true suffering is and have a drive to for success, so being from the hood does mean something.
