Great videos! Love your content! It blows my mind how expensive keeping alpacas are and therefore how expensive alpaca wool/fibre costs. How come sheep and sheep wool cost so much less?

at least in part because sheep get shorn twice a year and alpacas only once, so their fiber output is way less

I love your videos! Want to see all the things. Definitely have to get them on grass, that is crazy expensive. You are probably not charging enough for your products, alpaca hats and socks are pretty high down here.

would love to know what the charge is for alpaca socks! we had fingerless gloves for the first time that we got from a friend who has been a great alpaca mentor, so just marked them up a little from what we paid her for them. but when we have our own I think we might be a little lost! Grass is a must. thats priority number one come spring time

Alpacas have multiple revenue streams that include: Raw fiber sales - like the raw fleece or parts of it Sale of finished fiber products (yarn or clothing) Sale of actual alpacas Breedings of alpacas Manure sales (the manure is high quality and serves as organic fertilizer) Meat sales Sales of services related to alpacas I hope this info helps you to make your farm profitable. You need help, so I looked up some more options for you and your farm. I love your videos. I've been researching getting into alpacas, they are just so sweet looking. :)

Yes! We absolutely thought when we were originally buying this place we would be creating hay fields to make our own hay. But the trees and rocks are proving to be quite difficult to deal with. One step at a time.

Great video! I love seeing the animals. I don't find it so interesting to watch you talk about clearing land, moving logs and milling them. I know its important to your plans for the compound, but its just not interesting to watch. Love watching you build things too. Will still be watching your videos regardless. :)

We don't sell a ton of alpacas. Mostly we think of them as our pets. We did do some breeding last spring so we will see what happens
