My wife inherited a home in Ft. Wayne and after living in Los Angeles, CA. for 22 years. I entertained the idea because it was mortgage free. I think I’d rather pay $2500 a month on a mortgage than have free rent in Ft. Wayne, IN., simply because my wife and I enjoy nice weather, nice restaurants, an art scene, museums and open minded people. None of which Ft. Wayne Indiana will EVER have. But hey, they just opened another Applebee’s in town, so you guys have that.... so incredibly happy to be out of that town.

It’s rough... but hardly a diamond. Incredibly conservative. Lot of Trumpers, but if that’s your preference, might be a good fit. You can also save a ridiculous amount of money because there’s absolutely nothing to do...

I currently live in Maine and although I love many things about this state I am looking for better weather. Your four seasons seem to be evenly distributed compared to our very long winters. I appreciate your videos and will be seriously considering a relocation in a few years.

I spent seven miserable years in Ft. Wayne. Terrible weather, five months of grey sky starting in November. Lack of good restaurants. Rusted cars and trucks everywhere. Conservative people. No shortage of derelicts and uneducated people with credit card debt. It’s a wage earner town.. If that’s your thing.. Ft. Wayne is great.

Thank you! Yes there are usually 5-10 houses available in that price range at any given time. They might need some work but there’s some that you can move into and slowly update.

Its starting to get expensive, have you seen house prices? Since Covid they are up almost 30K and wages are not up to support that. Probably gonna have a housing crash for builders!

Look at Zillow housing prices for Ft. Wayne Indiana for the last year … it has gone parabolic… straight line up. We just sold our home a month ago based on the explosion. It was a winning lottery ticket getting what we got for that home… we took the money and ran… moved to a healthier state that has more sun.

Looking at moving to Fort Wayne. I am a Over the road truck driver. I have the VA that will ensure up to 36k on a mortgage. I can put around 20k down and looking for a starter home for my first home. I do have bad credit. What are my options? I plan to let my wife move into the house and I will stay over the road for a year or two and put most of my income into paying the house off fast

It also costs you if you enjoy eating at great restaurants, cause there are none. It also costs you if you enjoy museums... cause there are none. It also costs you if you like good weather...because there are only three months a year that qualify for that. Grey skies 5 months out of the year.
