Our city's location is also on a divide where water flows eastward to the Great Lakes (Eire), and the geology of southern and western side of town directs the flow to the Gulf of Mexico via the Wabash. So, it can rain on Fort Wayne but the run-off ends up in two vastly different locations a thousand miles apart. Speaking of runoff... don't forget about our mammoth tunnel boring through the city's bedrock to properly direct water flow into treatment areas to avoid contamination of our rivers. May be an even greater project from an engineering viewpoint than some of the projects downtown. .

Thank you for giving the highlights of “liking here”. I have lived multiple places in Indiana including Kendallville, Greenwood in Indianapolis, Monticello and Martinsville in south central IN. Everyone hates on FW but it’s becoming better as I’ve gotten older. I used to travel here to Glenbrook on New Year’s Day and ice skate inside the mall (where the food court is now) while parents sought shopping deals. Never thought I’d come back here. I’m loving being here raising my family with the military and watching the ground floor of this up and coming city.

It’s pretty great right? I hear stories all the time about how it used to be…I can’t believe it sometimes
