I got a quote for the xpel shadow, which is the xpel covering but it gives a matte look to the paint. Local shop quoted me $10k for the entire vehicle. I’d much rather wrap it 2-3 times for that price

Now how is a wrap a better option than paint? If you only say it lasts five years, for 2 grand, that sounds awfully expensive to do every 5 years. Some say the wrap lasts about 10 years which sounds a little bit more reasonable. I want to do it to my Sequoia, but it has to last a bit longer. Hmmm...

When the vinyl starts to fade good luck removing it. I have my my roof wrapped in black, after 4 years it was a nightmare to remove the wrap. The paint was damaged from the glue residue. Never will wrap any of my cars again.

How much does it cost to have the wrap removed?

Removal is pretty straight forward. Let it sit in the sun to warm up the adhesive. Lift up an edge and start pulling the wrap back at a 45 degree angle. If there are spots that are tougher to remove you can use a heat gun to warm up the wrap and it should peel off

Wrap is nowhere near as good as Paint Protection Film when it coms to protecting paint. Usually when your car is wrapped rock will go thru the wrap and still chip paint because wrap is way thinner then paint protection film.
