Thanks for the REAL numbers. So sick and tired of lies on KZbin. We're about to spend a fortune to build a large building, and it's so irritating to hear just how cheap people build their buildings for, only to find out it's total BS.

I was going to say $500. We’re about to get started in Colorado, standard build. But we’re still going to do radiant floor for basement and probably main floor too. House is at 8500 ft so no AC needed. House is 1800 with additional unfinished roughed walk out space and a builder quoted us 1.4-1.7. We’re working with a company to help us be our own GC and estimating a mil. Yes, it costs that much up here. Problem with house costs, it costs whatever it costs. That’s why the budgeting and planning phase of our build has taken almost a whole year.

A barndo with 8500 sq.ft..?? In floor radiant water or Glycol.??
@leighannebrown-pedersen75362 күн бұрын
@@scotthackett4500 nooo, 8500 ft elevation. House is only 1850 with an additional 1850 walk out unfinished basement. So not a barndo. But I’ve been watching folks and the radiant flooring

@ and water. We actually are kicking around the idea of a glycol water mix for the front patio and part of the driveway. But it may be out of our costs. Surprisingly in Colorado, it does get cold, but not Minnesota cold.

Nice job. Surprised it ended up around $250/SF, but I guess there are some places you can spend more (or less).

I run my own excavation business and know the costs. To have someone with a cdl haul in heavy equipment, a good operator plus all materials for 200' of driveway and 112'x48' pad - $16,960 is very fair.

What’s a ball park price for the metal roof/sqft?
@JMNovak10114 күн бұрын
$425k finished.... Damn off by $75k. Beautiful home but $500k out of most peoples price range, even with 20% down that's a payment of $3,200 amonth with escrow...Bankrate suggested Americans would have to rake in $110k per year to afford a median-priced home, which costs $402k. And that doesn't take into account daily cost of living. World had become crazy expensive. Sorry for that rant. Beautiful home like I said and for the per sq/ft cost a great price as most custom homes run way higher.

What plan is this?
@MrPostFrame4 күн бұрын
We'll be releasing this plan in a few weeks, but it's available for pre-sale. Get $200 off by emailing hello@backfortybuildings.com and mention you saw it on KZbin! You can take a look at the general layout and see if it's something that would work for you.

It's custom so $300/sqft according to local architects and builders around me so 1.2 million. lol.
@CentralPlainsEntКүн бұрын
Just getting the property that is zoned correctly would make it cost prohibited. Still need to drill a well and hit drinkable water. Probably looking well over a million. Out of reach for a normal person. Basic starter homes are close to out of reach.
@MrPostFrame14 сағат бұрын
I agree. Not even 10 years ago you could buy a 2000 sq/ft home where I lived for under $200K. Now it is way over double that. That is why I self built my entire house.

All the people saying “ way over priced” 😂 , cost are cost people ……. bottom line. Just because google told you or Homeadvisor told you your dream home was 150k , that doesn’t mean that’s feasible.
@ajquick4 күн бұрын
My guess was $250k for the shell and $500k complete, so not far off.

@ do you know how much extra will be?
@MrPostFrame3 күн бұрын
That really varies depending on your location since concrete costs are all over the place. There’s a lot of extra excavation, etc. We would have to research and put together a video or something on it to accurately give numbers
