@@NewAgentHQ what exactly is "prospecting"? IS that what people say in place of cold calling, or is it something specific?

Any advice how to get the proper training as you go? I keep hearing few places want to train new mlo's
@Skidmark0606 Жыл бұрын
I’ve heard about two different types of MLOs. Those that have to prospect their leads and those that work at a bank or similar institution that are given leads. But the ones given leads are paid less than the ones that go out and market themselves. Is this true?
@EnriqueGreatness Жыл бұрын
This is true. Usually there is a diff commission amount when the company provides you the leads.

No offense, but making 14k ish over six month is kind of daunting… That means the annual income for some first year MLO in California is probably less than 40k. That’s very low, unless it’s just a side hustle. It seems that the problem is not getting enough leads, do you know if some reputable brokers/employer provided consistent leads? I’m interested in the field, but I hate prospecting and marketing…
@EnriqueGreatness2 жыл бұрын
None taken lol. In the beginning it can be super difficult. 60-80% of new loan officers quit their first year. Definitely not an easy career but it does pay off in the long run.

Prospecting and marketing/networking are 2 of the most crucial activities a successful LO performs, and you're going to be doing A LOT of it for your first few years in the industry until your referral business is self-sustaining (even then you will always have to seek out new prospects). Unless you work for a bank that gives you leads for a discounted commission plan, you may not want to commit. The best thing I've heard, "The number 1 and number 2 things an LO should be doing every day are prospecting, and prospecting some more".

Question: you got hired first before getting licensed? or you already had your license? Thank you!
@EnriqueGreatness2 жыл бұрын
The usual sequence will be passing your exam, submitting your application to the NMLS and then start applying for a company to work for. Some companies will hire you before you pass your exam but most, to my understanding, want to see you have passed the exam.

Hi Enrique, good evening. Does new world mortgage provide leads or does the MLO need to look and build relationships with real estate professionals and create their own leads? I recently passed my safe exam, pending approval (CA-DFPI). I'm looking around and it is usually one or the other. I enjoy your videos , keep up the good work!!
@EnriqueGreatness3 жыл бұрын
Hello Miguel! Most of it is building your own real estate professional relationships and leads. However, we do get provided leads from accounts the company services every now and then. And thank you!
