Pretty good deal, and insurance ain’t horrible either. At that point in my life where I wish I didn’t age anymore but having a lower insurance rate and APR would be nice lol. How longs your term though? I get that 9.5% is a bit high but $880 is a lot a month. Don’t blame you on rushing though

I live in New York and I recently picked up a brand new 2023 rapid blue ZL1 convertible. I have classic car insurance on the car and I pay $800 a year for full coverage. The car is insured for over 80K. The only limitations are it has to be in a garage and I have a 3000 mi a year limit.

That’s the first thing the credit union told me, I couldn’t just drop insurance. They suggested comprehensive only which is the cheaper part of the bill. To my understanding the surcharge might be possible depending if you have to surrender/store the plates. Thank you very much, would have been better if it was a Z but I’ll take what I can get lol. @PoconGaming Жыл бұрын
Can you explain more about getting your credit pulled and the terms around it? For example i was at a dealer recently and after i agreed to have my credit checked (mind you i know my score and its quite good) they told my its important to not go shopping around to any other dealers and have them pull my credit as well. From all the research ive done i still cant find a good answer as to why its bad to have your credit pulled? Isnt that what your score is for so that companies can pull it and give you better offers based on it?
@frightcrafter Жыл бұрын
Having a "hard" credit check (IE actually applying for a loan) done negatively impacts your score lowers it by like 10-12 points usually so having multiple dealers check it would theoretically be bad. In this case though I would imagine its more just to keep you from finding a better deal elsewhere, because to the best of my knowledge they're only running "soft" credit checks (just looking at the number).
@CamaroandaCamera Жыл бұрын
To my understanding having your credit pulled necessarily isn't bad however it seems the decrease in points is a counter measure to prevent someone with medium to high credit applying for multiple loans at the same time. Having the decrease in 10-20 points over 5 different loans will significantly reduce your score and will serve as a "red flag" to lenders if an individual in fact is applying back to back. Hope this answers your question :)
@CamaroandaCamera Жыл бұрын
True, I believe some dealers tend to lie about not doing "too many pulls" with other banks and dealers because they do want to make a percentage off of selling you the loan through their preferred bank. However, when you do allow them or any other financial insitution to perform a check to get a loan or credit line these are hard pulls. Now yes some are harder pulls than others but I believe also depending on the amount you're looking to borrow this may impact the points you lose minimally.

yo wassup bro what you think i should do i really want a ss but only if i can keep the same payment i have for my civic im already paying a lot 971 in total a month for insurance and note i got quotes and my insurance would be cheaper when the ss surprisingly from 2 company’s i don’t struggle financially but im scared to pull the trigger cause of like gas and shit i barley drive to work since i’m wfh 22yo built a decent credit and i bank with navy federal take home 4k minimum a month i would want to trade my civic in and use the 1-2k from positive equity as a down payment and maybe 1-2k from my savings if the note is close to my og payment u think i should go for it im the type to dwindle on shit like this then lose my opportunity but i really always wanted a camaro especially the 1le since they are not in production anymore
@CamaroandaCamera11 ай бұрын
what good brother, the answer is complicated only because I don't know all your needs and condition now. Additionally, while we can speculate on how a 19-20 ss (non 1le) is 30k-40k depending on mileage and condition we won't know what your apr or insurance will be. In my honest opinion however if you do make what you said a month and put 10k as a down payment you should be alright for the note. Also if you're in a warmer state selling your civic is fine cause the maintenance isn't terrible unless you buy a lemon. If you're up north get a reasonable beater that you can daily in those cold months. I wouldnt take out more than 25k in a loan for longer than 60 months. Also if your apr is higher than 10% I wouldn't personally get the car/look for a better apr. Hope this helps!

What insurance do you have? I have a 17' Elantra base that I pay 160 a month for and it seems like everywhere I look its even higher than that. Maybe its because of my age? (I'm 20)
@CamaroandaCamera Жыл бұрын
I use for my civic progressive and I believe nationwide for my moms policy. Your rate is most likely higher due to your age, it’s a newer car and also I’ve taken defensive driving classes online that reduce my premium as well as using a device they send you to monitor your car to see if you’re an responsible driver. So if you do those your premium might fair a bit better.

Thats not how balloon payments work, you just have a conventional auto loan. Good on you with a large down payment and 48 months, but young dudes relying on mom for a cosigner should probably avoid 50k cars. No hate, just my opinion. That said, you are going about this scenario in the best way possible with a good chunk down and short term. As a 5 year salesman, ive seen many worse desicions made lol nice car! Pay it off and enjoy.
@CamaroandaCamera Жыл бұрын
Yeah I used "balloon payment" for a lack of a better word. The point I was making was paying toward the principle allows you to save money on the interest since you're paying before it's due. No hate recieved, I would have waited a few more years but camaros are limited now and I didn't want one that was used heavily by the first owner/modded. Good to know a salesman is backing my purchase that has no skin in the game though. Some of the salesmen i've seen and come to know tend to allow worse deals happen all to make a sale. Thanks for the input and I'm putting paying it off before thousand dollar mods lol

Interesting. I paid 120,000 after taxes and such for my limited edition 70th anniversary 2023 C8 Corvette stingray z51 3LT. Payments are about 1800, and my insurance is only 140 a month. Got my wife a Dodge challenger because she got jealous of my car, her insurance with mine is a only about 260 a month. It is very interesting how the prices break down. Oh and if you are wondering, yes the 0 to 60 time for the corvette is 2.9 seconds. Unaided, I did a pull of 3.6 seconds. Your might be lucky to do 4 seconds. Bit that's weight and the fact my car has almost 500 HP. But not a bad looking car.

Hope the c8 is in rapid blue but sounds sweet. Wish I had your insurance payments too lol. And yeah the corvettes always gonna be faster compared to Camaros counter part for the higher hp and the weight. Best of luck with it though!

Thank you. Its a pearl white that people just love. It has white leather seats with alcantara interior. A dark blue translucent removable hard top. It also has a red engine cover. The white paint kind of changes colour slightly with different light. At night, it looks almost silver. People can't get enough of it. I think I need to wait two or three months before I can drive it again because of the winter. Fight the urge man. Wait until its nice. The camaros are no longer made and you might find your car may go up in price instead of down because of that.

@@darksideblues135yeah that’s why I’m planning on keep this car until I’m old and grey. 1LEs are a more desirable spec to begin with however in the last few years of the camaro 22-24 this package was HEAVILY on constraint making it much more difficult to get.
