Interesting breakdown of your costs. You'll have to do a comparison of coffee taste and types in Australia and the USA.

For sure, for every "up" there is a down.And in Australia its "cost of living"(COL),but consider thats why OZ has generous welfare(by US standards) and thats the price for having a quality life, here in OZ(the land of the "truly" free)

My Backpacker workmate spending more or less $500 a week included rent and mobile data, the usual wage for casual is $1000/40hrs a week in Hospitality.

Take-aways will always be expensive. Buy bread and your own fillings and take to work each day if you want to save.

Wow. In Perth the drivers licence is about $35 per year. We don't have any road tolls, like you do in the eastern states. And during Covid, Melbourne was totally shut down for many months, where we were free in WA to mingle without mask's due to our border closure.

Yes, as I understand it all period products in Australia don't incur the 10% GST and all period products in schools are provided to the students free of charge.

now..but for ages they were charged GST which really pissed women off because they were catergorized as luxury items...thanks John Howard...the free stuff in schools for girls is really recent but a great idea..

This is quite interesting to see someone else’s general week costing. Theres like no takeaway near me so if I get delivery, the prices just go up.

WTF! Buying clothes is hardly a weekly expense. I can have 2 meals/day plus 3 or 4 coffees/day for less than 150$/week.

omg i know 😭 i felt so bad after spending it on clothes - this was a pretty extravagant week i normally spend around the same on a normal week
@BareFootDuck Жыл бұрын
@@elliemajelly It's not that the clothes were extravagant, just not a weekly expense as per video title. Licence? Why include that as a weekly expense? 🤔 You didn't seem to eat very much that week either...😅

Wowzers Ur paying a lot for food and what do u have done to ur nails?? I pay $2.80 per sushi roll and $10 for a snitz from the fish shop. I pay $50 for my nails - I get SNS and that is without the cash discount! Australia definitely is more $$ than the US but our minimum wage is more than double so…⚖️ Also, Melbourne is MUCH cheaper than Sydney and Perth!

yeah i said in the video i wasn’t including it because mine aren’t realistic since i’m living with family while searching for a place. also it was the week before i was traveling so i was eating out more since i wasn’t trying to buy groceries that would go bad while i was traveling - hope that clears it up!
