Congratulations to you. I feel so lucky. I went through IVF and my insurance paid for everything, 100% Including, genetic testing. I work for board of ed in NY. I only paid $30 co pay for office visits. The only large expense was $2000 for administration fees that included counseling for using donor tissue. I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant. I'm so greatful.

I’m thinking of starting with IUI first. I did two rounds of egg freezing previously. My insurance covered 80% of my meds so I paid about 1000$ out of pocket. Then the procedure itself was 8000$ a round. This is in Canada. To use them and do IVF it’s another 8000$ so 16,000$ per round. Weirdly IVF is 11,000-1250$ if you do it from scratch. And IUI is $1750.

I did three rounds of IVF. $20000 for each round of IVF and $10000 for medications for each round. We also did four transfers. One transfer would have been covered per round. The fourth transfer cost another $5400. Our total was around $95000. Give or take a few hundred dollars. IVF isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely worth it to have a family.

Thank you for making this video!! If I ever have to get IVF, it's good to know an estimate of how much it might cost me. Have you heard of IVC (InvoCell)? It's kind of like IVF, but it's different and cheaper, in that a small cylinder device is used to store the sperm and eggs. It is then put in a diaphragm and stored at the cervix. The sperm and eggs meet on their own and when the device is taken out (I believe after 5 days), they open it up and see how many embryos there are. You don't have the cost of labs combining the sperm and egg. It's all done inside your body because your body is the perfect temperature and environment for it to happen. If I have to take the IVF route, I will probably try IVC if I'm a candidate. I just think science is so amazing! I know I'm not explaining it as good as a doctor can, but the idea of it is so neat! Definitely check it out if you've never heard it! I only recently discovered it and I've been doing my research to be prepared in case I have to have IVF.

@@SaraMaria83 oh man! That's always how it goes! 😂😂😂 Well at least you'll know about it if you decide to have another baby! I'm hoping and praying I'll have twins. It runs in my family on my mom's side (every generation has fraternal twin boys). I have also thought about travelling abroad to get IVF done for cheaper. The best (abroad) and cheapest place to get IVF is in Greece! IVF there only costs about $3500-$4100 USD!!

@@DenaeK well if you did InvoCell, you’d need to put 2 embryos back in to get a chance at fraternal twins otherwise you’d have a chance at identical twins if you just put one embryo in and it split! I already have 5 more normal embryos frozen so no more IVF for me!!! I’d just do natural embryo transfers again with the embryos I have frozen for any more children I’d want to have 🥰 I hear Europe is super cheap for IVF!

Sara Maria! I wish you could organize MY finances, I became a single mother at the age of 17. I'm ;53 now. It really set me up to fail financially, to be honest. I think teen mums should receive free budgeting training. I mean, at first my budget was next to non-existent. I got a cheque for $660 and my rent was $357!!! Today, I wonder how I got through those early years. Aaaanyway, the time is drawing so near now! Are you going to show us his nursery? I'm so excited for you, Sara Maria.
