When I went to Japan I found it hard to just have vegetables as we do in Melbourne. A lot of the time the vegetables would be in small amounts or deep fried. But its so hard to find people above size 10/12 in Japan soooooooooo they must be doing something right? Though if they're "skinny" it doesn't really mean that they're nourished. I was craving broccoli and normal veggies really bad by the end of my trip

japanese food is very healthy compared to other styles/types of food. the portion sizes are also on the smaller side. plus, the people there walk everywhere and are fairly active, so it balances out. :) the only unhealthy thing i would say is the smoking, but its only prevalent at night time when everyone is done with work and need to destress.

I have high metabolism too but I can be thicc if I would laze all month and eat every hour and then I would be happy bec I gained weight but then I would get sick and be skinny all over again. The food I ate went to my height rather than being fatter so I am the tallest in our group

A really good well priced sort of conveyor belt sushi is Chojiro. They're all over Japan and the do the same ipad ordering system as well but I found the quality to be really good and the staff are kind and helpful particularly at the Osaka branch.

Psst if anyone is wondering about those crane games, the point isn't to pick it up and carry it over. Most of the times you're supposed to aim the claw in a way that will PUSH the prize into the hole. It takes a few tries but you'll have better luck doing that then trying to straight up pick it up.
