Hey Rachael , about the vaccine, at IOM in Naguru, they didn’t have some vaccines like Tetanus, and they didn’t tell about getting them from somewhere else, will it be an issue?

Not it won’t be an issue , they send the results directly to the embassy so it should be okay. It is their duty to make sure all of the tests and vaccines are given I’m sure you won’t have any issues.

Hello Racheal, am planning on applying this year for the dv lottery, I wanted to inquire how I go about the whole passport photos... Are they the normal passport photos we usually take in uganda.

No they are not the normal passport photos, when you go to the studio, you simply tell them you want the American size passport photos. Also please go to a studio that looks like they know what they are doing, often time the pictures doesn’t need to be over edited.

Hi Norah, your host is supposed to provide you with one. They can write you a quick recommendation letter and provide you with their tax returns because you will need them at the interview. Also they need to send you a copy of their ID

And I’m sure someone who has hosted will say the same, so you can only hope that whoever you host is a good person and also hope that whoever hosts you is equally a good person. This country changes people in all different ways. I probably will have a bigger house in 5 years and if I have the ability to host I definitely will.

Unfortunately I am not allowed to host until I’ve lived in the country for at least 5 years. I’ve only lived here for 2 so I still can’t host.
