Thank you for sharing your tests with us🤩 # 4 is the best and I think dipping the piece only once in the #4 mason stain, would give a more uniform glaze result ☺️

Somehow I missed this, but my brain knew to expect it. Weird! Thanks for the followup! I don't care as much for the line that double dipping left, but I like the 4% the best.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree. I think next time I'll make sure the inside liner glaze doesn't reach to the outside.

Thanks! I've been having some issues with my matte glaze that I haven't figured out yet. But once I do I will perform similar tests I'm sure. So stay tuned!

Thanks! I fire to cone 6. I don't have any low fire glaze recipes. Perhaps go searching on glazy.org. There's a lot there!

Okay so the main thing I was looking for was the “math that I won’t bore you with” haha! I’m struggling to find the weight of the raw vs liquid. Is it just specific gravity?

You just need to rearrange the equation for water, dry ingredients and final weight. So if Dry is 1 (D), water is 90% of that (.9*D) then total is 1.9. D + 0.9*D = 1.9D. Change the 0.9 based on your water ratio. I had 1543g total. So 1543/1.9 = 812g of dry ingredients. This isn't exact but is close. Then you can add x% of colorant based on the 812g. So 1% is 8g.
