So i work graveyard and day shifts sometimes, im thinking about living in a car to just begin sleep immediately and stop commuting. So if i get a tesla model x does this make charging free?
@EverydaySandroАй бұрын
Awesome, depending on the year and incentive they had when the Model X was sold. Free supercharging can be grandfathered in with older models!

I'd love to drive all the way down to the bottom of South America but are you sure that's possible with an EV? When I check routes for my Model 3 Performance I can't get past southern Mexico. I'm currently on a trip from Minneapolis to Florida (where I am now), all around Florida and then heading all along the east coast up to Newfoundland. When I get there I plan on exploring the island all over. While planning it I learned that the final French colony in the Americas is a set of two islands named Saint-Pierre and Miquelon that are right off the coast of Newfoundland. It's part of the European Union and they use Euros. So I'll also go there. It doesn't appear that they have any EV chargers though so I'll have to take the ferry without my car and just rent one there. Newfoundland doesn't have any Tesla chargers. I paid to upgrade mine so I can use non Tesla fast chargers. I used that for the first time last week when I was in Key West. They only had one Electrify America station with 4 posts. I used that a few times and twice it had issues. Once it stopped charging half way through. It was pouring rain and I wasn't desperately in need of more so I didn't feel like messing with it to try to get it going again. Maybe I could have. The second time the app wouldn't let me start the charge. The station was full so I couldn't check another post without waiting. The guy next to me also had issues. This was when I was ready to leave Key West and I only needed enough to get to the next Tesla charger. I was only trying to give more of a buffer zone in case there were issues but I officially had enough to get there so I just risked it and went with what I had. After these experiences I'm a little nervous about trying this on a big island where I will have possibly zero backup options if I get to a charger that doesn't work. The non-Tesla charging network still needs a lot of work.

I'm sure he'll respond because he responds to every message. You can watch his Alaska series to see how he does it. Basically, if he can't find a Tesla charger he is good at finding other chargers. If he can't find a charger, he tries at campgrounds and if he can't find a campground, he'll find a plug to plug his mobile charger in. I wish I was as resourceful as him because there are places I want to go that doesn't have any chargers.
@EverydaySandro2 ай бұрын
Hey excited for you trip. Download the PlugShare app so you can see all EV chargers available to you. I use the FLO network a lot when I am in remote areas, but depending where you are they can be pricey. Goodluck on your travels. South America actually won’t be as challenging as now I have all my adapters. Just got to plan ahead, and use common sense!
@JosephHowes20032 ай бұрын
@@EverydaySandro I use Plugshare and several other apps to try to find chargers but in planning a long trip where Tesla Chargers won't get me all the way I use A Better Route Planner and it claims there's no way to get past southern Mexico even if I settled for Level 2 chargers for awhile. I might go to Costa Rica for business at some point in the not too distant future so it would be nice to drive.

Hey thanks for sharing this, I know how uncomfortable it can be to share something personal like finances. Im really interested in the "living through an llc" concept, is everything you learned through other people or did you have a book or site that expands on that?
