Oh boy how I wish more mobile games took the approach of giving a quality product over just throwing ads left right and center. I think what you and some (unfortunately very few) people do with ads is really great. It just makes the game more fun and lasting. I hope you learned a lot and take this same approach in future awesome mobile games that you may make.

Thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot to me. I think I’d have to find a better monetization strategy for my next game so it can do a little better, but as a gamer first I always want to make sure I’m not frustrating players with the amount of ads I’m showing. No one likes to be bombarded with ads.

@@aryavatan For sure. There definitely needs to be a few forced ads, but the main goal should be to make a game good enough where there doesn’t need to be constant ads.

36c is actually incredible for 73 impressions. Rewarded video ads are definitely the only way to go if you're going to rely on ads to generate revenue. I reckon this is a great first step on your journey so obviously keep going. Nice work - subbed. I have NEVER thought about using my apps and games as portfolio pieces. Great idea.

Hi can you please explain to me how you did it. How you got a job in game industry with just this mobile game? I'm a fresh grad and I've also already published three mobile games on google play created by me with total 120,000 downloads combined. But I'm having hard time getting a job in the game industry especially in the interview. Ho did you present your game to the interviewers? Any tips? How the interview went.
@aryavatan
@aryavatan 2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! First of all thanks for watching, I appreciate it! What worked for me was building the confidence that I am GOOD ENOUGH to be hired as a game developer. In interviews, without sounding cocky, I talk about all the different things I learned from working on this game (i.e. mobile optimization, ad integration, etc.) and I make sure to talk about specific skills that I know they're interested in. These are problem solving, testing, debugging, writing clean code, solving technical challenges, etc. I've also learned that employers really value your soft skills. So it's important to talk about things like your communication skills, how you handle confrontation/disagreements, your leadership skills, and things like that. It's also important to note that, I already had 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in the form of 2 co-op placements, 1 internship, and 1 full-time post-grad job. But there is so much more to talk about when it comes to game development job interviews... Would it be helpful if I created a video about how to ace game development job interviews?

Hey there, thanks for stopping by and checking me out! Unfortunately I’m not working on a city builder game at the moment and my plate too full to start creating niche tutorials. I will probably create some tutorials down the road but they will be closely related to whatever game project I’m working on at the time. Hope you can understand ❤️

I don't get why KZbinr developers hate forced ads a.k.a interstitial ads so much? Isn't that hypocrisy? Since their KZbin videos have a bunched of FORCED ads in it. I mean what's the hate and disgust when mobile games have forced ads in it but seems fine for them to put them on their KZbin videos? I'm not really referring to you specifically. I'm talking generally since most KZbinr developers seems disgusted with the idea of putting forced ads in their mobile game.

Bro game looks pretty decent, you just didn't knew how to do marketing . You would have easily made $10k in first month with this type of game ( one of my freinds achieved this ) your game is better than his but his monetization and marketing methods were different than yours maybe that's why

this is a self defeating mindset... Ask yourself honestly... would you play this game? and come back to it more and more? The answer is no(even though its cool you have made it) that is why it is not generating revenue. If you put your heart and mind into creating a game YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS will get addicted to - that is when you need to release it and hit marketing hard! Good luck!
