I don’t see any 7 wide trailers around here in California so I’m sure I need a 8 food wide trailer. Anyway good luck .

I was already working on a list gathering prices to compile an estimate to build my own. Thank you so much for sharing your list. I truly was not thinking about the ceiling exhaust fan before your video. It just clean wiped out of my head. I won't be starting with hot foods but it's still a cost that needs to be added when hot foods are added.

I just picked up a use, but very nice, food trailer for 19k. That had EVERYTHING, ....oven stove griddle cooler cold station prep tables steam table....all the sinks and even the kitchen tools and pans and so on. I thing considering all the extras, i came out pretty well. Not to mention....we were legally working with in 30 days of the purchase, so nice to see some of the cost already coming back. Inspections were basically the same in this part of Ohio, and the permits to work the local cities is cheep !!!

Also, regarding the trailer warranty, I spoke with APEX specialty vehicles for a quote (their minimum project cost was 70k for a trailer, granted they do work for chick-fil-a and other big ol brands, and build their trailers in-house from the axles up to be tanks. He quoted a 14' trailer to need a 2.5ton pickup because they are so overbuilt), and their warranty was next-level great if you were willing to pay their price tag. Wherever you break down, you get a bid from a local mechanic, send it to APEX, and they handle payment.

Hi. Im really excited about your videos. My ex wife's brand new food trailer just got stolen on the 28th of January. She didn't even used it because more stuff needed to be added. Her and our kids (10, 8 and 6) are devastated. The kids wanted to help mom with her business. There is a cargo trailer that I might buy cheap and hopefully build her a small one so she can start. Really great resource as I am planning out my coffee roasting trailer, however I would suggest, if you can find the time, adding chapter markers to this series. Watching through all of them at once, vs over time as a vlog/diary style, there's a lot of repetition & lost time that I am scrubbing through and hoping that I'm not missing information. Some chapter markers could be added after the fact, within youtube, and let people binge through this series a lot more efficiently. Just my 2 cents. Thank you for putting this together, regardless of the format!

OMG, I'm so glad I came across ur channel. I reside in SC and I want to start a food truck. I have a question .when u said that u need a fire suppression for open fire what that means

Typically a fire department or sometimes the HD requires a Fire Suppression System when you cook on your truck. An open flame from a griddle or burner

What is the weight of the trailer and also what was the towing capacity for your avalanche?

I did weigh it a while back but don't have the scale sheet anymore. Its a 2003 avalanche its about 7,900-12,000 is what Google says

Hey Frank is it a 7x14 enclosed trailer you are working with? We are getting prepared to undertake a project, and have been wondering what size to go with!

The 16 foot length is my preference but 14 foot works and I would try to always get a double axle style. Lot of weight is going to be added want to make sure you are covered 👍

Hi Frank. Do you need any inspection or permits if you’re just going to sell the food truck and not plan to keep it for yourself?

Not that I am aware of. They only need those inspections where they will be operating as far as my understanding

Do you have to have any licenses before you do the blue prints and also can you register your trailer in different counties

For me they didn't require licenses at all during construction process, you would have to send your HD a quick email

No idea on hours but I would say if you had everything in stock and you worked on it daily you could be out the door in a month. I just work on it on free times
