During the first drive Imran said the car felt a bit flat to him, and having driven hundreds of different E9x M3's over the years he tends to have a pretty good feel for them.
So before we get started, lets put the car on the dyno and see just how much power its making!

@@ip7590 it appears to be a combination of things; no new cars on crazy cheap deals flooding the market like normal, new cars on crazy lead tunes, people not eating out / going on holiday and not really commuting so treating themselves to something tasty. I had been looking at swapping my M140i for an OG M2. Before COVID, a decent AUC was about £26k for a decent spec’d car. The same cars now are over £31/2k. Sod that. They’re older, with more miles for more cash. E9x M3’s have firmed up too. WBAC etc are offering crazy money for cars; the offer for my 140i was too good to turn down sonics gone. I’ve bought an old 130 for a bit in the hope that prices soften a bit.

@@samcourt6228 Here in the States used M cars like an F80 M3C for example are almost 30% higher pre-pandemic numbers. Chip shortages are also creating an uptick even if it doesn't directly affect that particular manufacture as perception is reality with the car market. It's suppose to normalize come winter 2022ish, so most people who understand the issue and do not absolutely have to have a new or used car are waiting. I've seen 2017/2018 M2s with 20k miles on them selling for $55k/40k pounds...its crazy.

@@Peanutdenver yup, it’s mental hence why I’m sitting it out for a bit. Buying now seems madness. If I bought that M2 that I’ve been hankering after, I’ll end up taking a massive hit when I eventually get bored and my head is turned by something else. M4’s were plentiful pre COVID a d at similar prices to an M2, looked great value. Now the only cars in budget are the earliest examples whereas I’d want at least a 2016 car due to the revisions made. I’ve been surprised at how much I’ve the old 130 so far though. I don’t miss my 140 in the slightest.

They aren't classed as a maintenance item. Typically you would change them if you started developing issues. But at that mileage it wouldn't hurt to change them apart from the cost. You would be more worried about an injector failing and dribbling too much fuel into a cylinder

Generally with an ignition coil they’re either working or not, wouldn’t expect to see a performance increase like we saw here. It’s the kind of thing you could change for peace of mind, if you were about to do a big trip etc which would be ruined by a failure etc
