Yes, except he used grams per pound instead of GRAMs per kiloGRAM. Why do you have to mix units of measurement like that, it's just confusing. At first I was thinking damn that's a really small amount, then he said per pound and I understood, it's almost double the amount I initially supposed. Idk if that's some American nonsense I am too European to understand, but it's literally the same parameter, just use the same unit of measurement lol.

It's so much less complicated than they want you to think. They tend to visualize their audience as their IFBB pro peers, who are trying to squeeze the last bit of growth out of their maxed out frame without getting career ending injuries, but that's not their core audience. It's us normies who wanna grow and get stronger. We need to show up, put effort into it, and do it for a long time. Eat less junk food, more whole foods. That's most of the job done right there.

Higher protein intake like 1 g/lb will not do any long term damage unless you have specific underlying health conditions. Though you’re right that 1 g/lb is probably unnecessary (as he alluded to in the video). I’ve seen 1.6 g/kg in the literature, which is the 0.7 g/lb that he quoted. If you are losing weight then you might benefit from a little bit higher amount to preserve lean muscle. It’s also important to note that it’s 1.6 g/kg of ideal body weight, not your current weight. If you weigh 250 lb but are untrained, you don’t need to eat more protein than Dr. Mike Israetel.

I used to mountain bike years ago. I remember reading a study about cyclists who weight train WITH the regular riding sessions and those who just rode. The difference in injury recovery time was much much faster for the weight training riders vs non. Also, the injury tended to be less severe.
