I was about 16 when I had to be hospitalized for several days due to an asthma flare up caused by a cold. I was given a doctor in training who tried to send me home the day I was hospitalized. She turned off my oxygen machine (it was on the highest setting from what I remember) and all the machines I was hooked to. She said I'd be leaving in an hour. I tried to protest but she wasnt having any of it. Not long after I was hunched in my bed, gasping for air, with severe chest pain. My mom had been napping and when she rolled over and saw me, quickly called for a nurse. The nurse was short and rolled her eyes at me. Her tune changed when the machine was turned back on and showed my oxygen was in the very low 50s, high 40s. (It's supposed to be in the high 90s) My oxygen was quickly turned back on, and I was in the hospital for about a week. All the doctor in training had to say was 'whoops'.

I absolutely feel that Dr Gundry is the real deal. I was impressed that he didn’t reflect on all of his accomplishments as a cardiologist, when he could’ve. However the female did many times feel the need to prove her knowledge was the correct way. I read his (Dr Gundry) life achievements and they are astonishing. And yes, why would a cardiologist who saved so many lives through his inventions and knowledge, step down as one of the leading cardiologist; Because he stumbled across a patient that gave him insight on how he could help others cure themselves too. He didn’t take the credit, but was humble enough to say, it started with Big Ed, his patient who cured himself. If that’s not humble I don’t know what is. I think he is fascinating. It didn’t take me long after reading all that he has experienced, observed, and just his overall knowledge. I also believe that he is passionate in finding a solution to cardiovascular disease among many other diseases that plague us in the US. I felt that Mike was condescending, and rude. Dr Gundry was calm cool and believed in what he was saying without a minute of hesitation. I understand that he doesn’t agree with Dr Gundry on many issues, but Dr Gundry doesn’t force his issues on anyone, but has relayed what works for his patients. This just really stunk in my opinion. I was very impressed with Dr Gundrys stance and knowledge. After watching this video I am more convinced that he is for real. After this video I went to look at his other videos; I’ve listened to him say…I made a mistake, I was wrong about something. I think there is a bit of a power struggle here.

I also didnt appreciate the way Dr Mike had to make it known about all of his followers and how the disagreed with Dr Gundry. That was very immature and disrespectful

Wow, this is by far one of the best podcast episodes I've ever seen. Such an interesting and important conversation. The disagreements and misunderstandings were handled so well by both dr.s, really a masterclass of polite yet poignant discourse and how to ask good questions and probe people without being aggressive and judgemental. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing it with us :)

I exercised a lot; but weight loss didn’t start to happen until I started cutting off 1/4 to 1/3 of my meals. At first I had A LOT of indigestion/burning in my stomach, which didn’t know occurs when you first start v eating less but after a while the body adjusts. And caloric intake was the key.❤

I think there's a big problem with how the school system punishes children who need to stay home from school. Doctors say don't send your kid to school if they are sick, but I can't AFFORD to miss school with how high the punishments are in some classes. Teachers make it nearly impossible, and getting a doctor's note isn't even a viable option most times. Most people can't afford to just go have a doctor checkup over a cold. So under this current system, we aren't going to have anyone following the rules. Kids show up sick and infect others because they have to.

This makes me laugh. Coming from a guy that said masks work for covid. Trust doctors that get kickbacks for prescribing pills that cause other issues that require more pills. He twists everything and saying trust doctors only based on a license is poor advise.

As an RN, BSN that is incredibly familiar with functional medicine, Ayurveda, and Indian spirituality I absolutely adored this conversation & this guest. I couldn’t agree with him more about almost everything-his perspective on Ayurveda, placebos & the necessity of including spirituality and the theoretical frameworks of the ancient techniques & traditions they stem from, from in any studies. I’m starting PMHNP school soon and he’s exactly the type of practitioner that I intend to be as we have very similar educational exposure and backgrounds. These ancient spiritual practices have a perspective and subjective evidence, that’s widely shared yet not entirely generalizable, that is absolutely vital & entirely valid, to the study & understanding of every aspect of humanity. I’m definitely subscribing to this guys channel because we’re completely aligned theoretically & experientially.

15:18 Dr Gundry is literally just Wallace Breen from Half-Life. He looks, sounds and ACTS like him. "Let me read a letter I recently received. "Dear Dr. Breen. Why has the Combine seen fit to suppress our reproductive cycle? Sincerely, A Concerned Citizen." Thank you for writing, Concerned. Of course your question touches on one of the basic biological impulses, with all its associated hopes and fears for the future of the species. I also detect some unspoken questions. Do Our Benefactors really know what's best for us?.."

The worst part about this is that it's the norm across human history because as a species, the best we can do is that we are making our best guess by what we know, but every doctor has a different interpretation because they're relying on a person explain what they're feeling, but we don't know anything about what's normal or not.

I think we want to live more like our prehistoric selves (shoeless, food etc) because humans evolved to live like that while our technology has greatly advanced our bodies haven’t evolved to live the way we currently do- so changing our lifestyle to live like them would be better. I think they died at 30 because they didn’t have hospitals, medical treatment, medicine (even Tylenol etc) + they were constantly working with tools, climbing etc and no safety regulations aka they would die . We have medicine + are much less active leading to us living longer
