Usually Project Based for example if its a shoot i can handle in a day both pre and post, 250-350 simple edits roughly around 2-3 minutes(charging a lot more for heavy effects and longer run times). if its a multi day shoot, i like to charge hourly for both pre and post ($20 as a base) as it has given me more opportunity to work with the client more often, they're also more enabled to request more edits which would take more time thus more hours to pay. I find when i charge one lump sum for a multi day shoot, i end up losing money in post even if i charge a higher amount say $1000 as im spending hours on hours doing revisions. You hit nail smack dab with everything you mention. I still do free shoots suprisingly, and its with friends as they dont ask for edits and im testing new techniques before i run them in the field!

Does this include any Drone Footage, I make Videos but I Have my part 107 and drone license, how would you price if you were including drone content into the video because I know that some drone pilots charge from $150-$250 an hr.

It’s completely up to you if you want to include that. For add on services I wouldn’t charge a premium maybe a discount for bundled services. Hope this helps!

Are you able to make a video regarding Texas drone laws not enforceable any more. The U.S. District court for the Western District of Texas issued an order finding Texas Drone Laws/restrictions are unconstitutional. See Order, DKT 74, National Press Photographers Association, et al, v. McCgaw et al., 1:19-CV-00946-RP, *31 (W. Dist. Tex, March 28, 2022).

I know it's a bit awkward to ask this question but still I'm going to ask. I'm starting out as a freelance videographer and was offering free video for a client, should I edit it for free or just the raw video footage that i just took for free, hope this is not too much to ask for I can't find any answer to this question and I'm being hesitant to do a free video for another person. thanks so much this video gave me reason to move forward and do what i love.

If you offered it for free already. I think you should do everything. Doing stuff for free should help build your clientele base. But offering just to do one might frustrate the client.
