This week on Youbbuteo, I go live on eBay to spend £36... yes £36, hardcore funds. What can £36 get, that going to wind me up. Here we go.

We had a 16 player Subbuteo league when I was a kid. We lived in a high rise and everyone had it so we had a league - Ran for 3 years. I used to do all the fixtures with my dad and then run up and down all the stairs posting the fixtures through everyone's doors. Anyway, we all had one friend who lived on a nearby street and we let him play and he was spoiled, had everything. We used to treat that as an away European tie. lol. Anyway's he had the most magnificent astroturf pitch. Came in a big cardboard tube. It was gorgeous to play on. Almost 40 years on and I bumped into him at a footy game and we were talking about our Subbuteo league. I mentioned his astroturf and do ye know - He still has it!!!! Could not believe it but, he still has it. Those things were built to last. :D

Ha Ha I had similar! Our league was 3 of us with occasionally another mate though he used to borrow our stuff. One guy had the lot AstroTurf, stadium floodlights etc. We tried hard to beat him but he was a decent player.

Excellent stuff. Interestingly I have the same tactics as yourself, buy it now, newly listed etc. Make an offer too. £3 postage I'm going to be a bit more wary of but yeah, tenner a team is my limit.

wow .. was like watching myself sat there lol .... nice Lazio team .. i missed that one lol i hate the postage system as well, some just take the mickey. i always search a "nearest first" as well, Interesting to see whats local as well. still The story of the episode ! S.C !!!! i am outraged you don't have your local team !! :-O Not allowed mate .. Its only "Sarfend You-Buteo-Nited" mate .. get someone to paint one and send it to you in a Sarfend box from Ebay lol !

I know it sucks right, problem is I want a proper Subbuteo lightweight one. Not too easy to come by, Southend aren't the most popular

@@SubbuteoCollector that's what mean I'm not bothered about that lol I just want get my paws on it lol. Any box sets I buy will be because look cool to me and get used. Mainly be buying teams though and playing with lad (hopefully get a pitch on board soon too)
