Just getting back into this. Had a World Cup 1970 Edition back in the day. Long-lost now :(. Picked up a Euro '96 set and really like those mono-block Hasbro bases. Prefer them to the La Leggenda, Total Soccer and Zeugo flat bases, which are what I've tried so far (they're all good though). Got a used France 98 set on the way. More of those Hasbro bases...great!

Looks like they looked after you better than me.. was sent a rubbish premiership ball where the paint/decal came off within three flicks.. wasn’t impressed by his lack of interest in my query or the quality… maybe they got better in the last year 😮 anyway nice of them .

This is great! When i was a kid I used to listen to my uncles bbc album of the 1972 FA cup final commentary. I’m not a Leeds or Arsenal fan but it was the only thing that seemed anything like the right background that was available

Had a conversation yesterday with the owner of a model railway enthusiasts business. Subbuteo was mentioned and he said his son used to work for ITV in the 70s and 80s and that they used matchsticks painted to look like supporters in the fleeting shots of crowds in the Subbuteo tv ads. Must say I find it hard to corroborate, but wouldnt be surprised if it was true. 😅

Yes please do. The matches with the aid of rubber bands apparently were positioned at different heights, and a hair dryer was operated to make them sway side to side. High tech indeed! 😂
