A friend of mine was stocking food. They amassed maybe three years' worth. While they were on vacation the rats moved in, ate all the food except canned food and anything peppermint. The rats also ate their medical supplies stored. They are now restocking but storing in plastic bins rather than cardboard boxes like they were before. Plus, it took several months to get rid of the rats.

That is a good point to bring up. Rodents are also a reason we keep a lot of food in totes. We should have brought that up. We will in future videos on food storage.

@@NormalPrepping I am a full time RVer and park overnight in crazy places that may be rat havens. Once had a mouse inside the RV while at a campground. After that I completely rat-proofed the entire rig. I'm also big on storing food, extra clothes, clothes, blankets and some of my daughters Toys in heavy plastic bins.
