Cry your pardon. I have a question a little more basic than that. "What's the Exchange?" There are four types of exchange: Criminal, Fraudulent, Fair, and In Abundance. In a criminal exchange you're lucky if you keep your current body. In a fraudulent exchange you're promised something and get (usually) MUCH LESS than promised. (Politicians' promises, anyone?) In a fair exchange you get exactly what was promised (and maybe a wrapper). In an exchange in abundance you're promised a diamond and are delivered a blue diamond (when you expected a normal clear one). So. What's the exchange? I am promised EVERY ELECTION CYCLE the equivalent of either heaven on earth, or at least sane governance, or at least a proper running of services that'll keep the neighborhoods safe, clean, and in acceptable repair. Every year I see the roads dilapidated further (because, OBVIOUSLY, only the government can build roads), crime in my particular neighborhood getting out of hand, education in the sewers with the garbage-eating alligators, and no bleeping hope of improvement. All that for 160 percent more taxation compared to the previous cycle. If I look at it from the State's viewpoint, what's wrong with taxation? After all, as the Chinese have expressed so poetically, you are all huminerals, fit only to be exploited, used up, buried in the ground, and re-harvested. So. Could you make a podcast answering my question? "What's the exchange for my forcibly taxed effort?" Because, if things keep down this road, I might get out of apathy.
